Listening WELL to the KING

Paul talks about running a race towards spiritual maturity, a place where you spend time with Jesus, reflect Him well and help others do the same.

Paul's life was drastically changed when he met Jesus.  Paul never gets tired of talking about the Gospel and the importance of developing an intimate relationship with Jesus.  Nothing else matters!

Paul gives us some men who are work hard to show the results of their salvation and where God is working.  Timothy and Epaphroditus are everyday heroes spending quarters through out the day.  Pastor Rick taught this lesson at CrossPoint Church

Paul commends the church for their obedience to the Word and then tells them to work hard on their obedience which will show the results of their salvation. Then Paul says that one result of walking with God is not complaining.  Complaining is offensive to God and one of the ugly sins which actually disqualifies a believers witness. Paul then tries to put suffering in perspective.

Pastor Rick focuses on the church unity in his message to CrossPoint Church.  Paul shares how humility is the key to unity and that believers ought to think about themselves the same way Jesus thought about Himself.  Humble people are unified people. 

Paul's desire was to honor God with his life.  He encouraged the Philippian believers to do the same by living as citizens of Heaven.  Walking with God enables His kids to reflect Him well.  Pastor Rick taught this at CrossPoint church.

God's strategy is better than Pauls... than ours. Paul clearly sees how his chains have allowed him to influence the influential palace guard and ignite the church. Paul rejoices that the Gospel is being proclaimed.  He also mentions the importance of the saints praying for him.  This text inspires and convicts.

Paul prays for a rather healthy church... hoping they grow more and more.  He reminds them that living a pure and blameless life brings God great glory.  Pastor Rick talks about the 3 Aspects of Salvation.

Paul writes an encouraging letter while under house arrest to a church he started 10 years before.  In spite of his circumstance, Paul rejoices that the Good News is getting out and changing lives.  Pastor Rick taught Philippians 1:1-8 at CrossPoint church on 220605.

Pastor Rick spoke from 1 Samuel 1 and 2 and Psalm 103.  Hannah went to God when circumstances were rough and obedience was hard.

Our assiduous God gives grace to sinners who repent... blatant sinners and shiny sinners.  Today, Pastor Rick focuses on the arrogant elder son.  He needed as much grace as his prodigal brother... if not more.  We gasp as the story of God's grace unfolds.

The parable of the two lost sons shocked the Pharisees.  When we understand the context... we understand God's love, grace and forgiveness extended to all who repent.  So much to learn about God and us in Luke 15.  Pastor Rick preached this message on 220424.

Christ died and rose again to pay for our sins and conquer sins power over us. Walking with God is wonderful... but the best is yet to come.  Christ's resurrection is a preview of what we can expect as believers. Pastor Rick spoke about God's Grace during the 10:30 Easter Service at CrossPoint Church.

Pastor Rick looks at John 11, 12, Matthew 21 and Revelation 19.  Jesus comes humbly the first time to bring salvation and peace... He comes the second time to judge, honoring His kids for eternity.  

John ends up talking about eternal security, prayer and sin.  But you really hear John's heart in the last verse.  John begs his kids not to let anything take the place of a relationship with Jesus.  John loved the Lord and wanted his kids to walk with Jesus and experience joy.

God's children's act like God's children.  They have faith in right things, they love the father, they love their brothers and sisters and they overcome the world.  Sweet!  Pastor Rick taught this message at CrossPoint Church

God loves us.  As we walk with Jesus, the Spirit enables believers to supernaturally and sacrificially love others like Jesus.  Since God’s love is no longer visible in the presence of the incarnate Christ here on earth, God is manifesting His love through His people.  What a privilege and a responsibility!

Love one another. Love others sacrificially like Jesus loved us.  If you weren't sacrifical, you didn't love.  If you don't love your brothers, it's like you have murdered them.  Wow, John's words are convicting and inspiring.  On the other hand, if we stay connected to Jesus and love like He loved... the church is going make quite the impact.

Pastor John reminds his flock about abiding with Jesus.  It makes all the difference during our lives now and for eternity.  Pastor Rick taught this message at CrossPoint Church.

Old Pastor John didn't want the church to be deceived by antichrists... folks who distorted who Jesus and God were.  John felt believers can battle well because they have the Spirit living in us who can illuminate the Word of God for us.  

It is critical for believers to walk with God so that we can love others like Jesus loved others.  We can love others like Jesus loved others because we have the same resources that Jesus had... that is the Holy Spirit and the Word.  A loving community is the shouts the Gospel.  Thank God for His grace in our lives.

If you walk with Jesus you will obey Him.  If you say you walk with Jesus but don't obey Him... you are a liar.  Pastor Rick talks about how obeying God means you love God well.  It is exciting to understand that Jesus modeled what a perfect relationship with the Father looks like and that we have the same resources as Jesus had 2,000 years ago.

Everyone who puts their faith in Jesus Christ, the son of God, has an Advocate and a Propitiation. Sin offends God and separates us from God. Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross appeases God's wrath and enables all those in God's family to have a rich relationship with God. Pastor Rick teaches from 1 John 2:1-2.

You can't walk with God and NOT be in community.  If you walk with God, you will be in community.  Confessing our sin restores our relationships with God and with others.  Pastor Rick taught from 1 John 1:5-10
