God is sovereign and in control of everything. The book of Genesis opens with the Lord putting his desire and purpose in Creation. Even in our chaos, he is in control and working all things to conform us to Christ Jesus.

There are many things to observe learn from the book of Genesis. Genealogies, kingdoms, and nations are listed throughout, however, the purpose of the book is to show us God’s plan for redemption. The stories in Genesis sets the stage for the big story of the Bible: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration.

Happiness is often determined by our circumstances. When things are going well, it’s easy to be happy. Unfortunately, happiness often goes away quickly when we experience times of difficulty. However, Jesus was born to bring us everlasting joy. Because of Christmas, we can have joy that endures any circumstance or situation. 

At the heart of Christmas is peace. Jesus has made peace and reconciliation between God and man, and saves us for the purpose of bring peacemakers.

What is Christmas really all about? The Bible tells us that the real reason to celebrate is the saving grace offered to us through the birth, life and death of God’s son, Jesus. 

Our hope is not in government, but it Christ and him alone. However, we have a duty to be informed and involved in the political decisions in our country. We do so out of love for our neighbor. Therefore, our response and view on politics ought to be different from those who do not know the Lord.

Abortion is not merely a political or cultural issue, it is a theological issue. What we think about abortion ultimately says what we think about God. In this sermon, we take a look at what the Bible says about abortion, and what our response as Christians ought to be.

God created humans as sexual beings. He is not frightened by sex, taken off guard by it, or disapproving it. As a matter of fact, sex is designed by him. Therefore, he sets the boundaries. Contrary to what culture believes, his boundaries are for our good and for our flourishing.
