Jesus does what He sees the Father doing as He cooperates with Heaven.  And we, as followers of Jesus, are called to participate in the Father's work to see Heaven manifested on earth.

The human condition suffers from a kind of emptiness. Jesus constantly tell us not to worry about scarcity, but to trust in God. To connect with Christ is to connect with the Infinite! 

In Jewish culture, the sea is a representation of chaos and the origin of evil. So, when Jesus came walking on the sea to the disciples who were in great distress in the storm, it is a sign. It is a sign that leads us to life and informs our faith in Jesus. When we see Jesus walking on water on the rough sea in a dark and stormy night, it tells us that Jesus is Lord! When our life feels like a sin...

At the wedding in Cana, Jesus performs His first miracle, and in doing so, reveals His glory and His beauty. Jesus is announcing the arrival of the reign of God. It is a sign that there is about to be a huge shift in how we understand our relationship with God. 

When we recognize that Jesus is the Living Word with whom we must engage, then we are engaging with the word of Life — God's Wisdom of how to live. To believe in Jesus is to believe that He is what God has to say. If you'll believe in the word of Life (Christ), your soul will be healed, and you will find life.

Christian – you are a new creation. We now live out of our baptismal identity — we should live as a people who have already died to the old age and already joined Christ in the age to come. We are people who are to live in a future -present reality. We live lives that reflect and are empowered by Kingdom realities not defined by this age  We demonstrate the coming age of new creation here and now....

Pete continues from the previous week exploring some thoughts from Philippians.  One of the main themes in Paul's letter was unity.  What is that, what what could that look like?  Maybe the biggest question is how do we do that?

Paul's letter to Philippi is full of encouragement, joy and fellowship.  What are some of things we can learn, not just from what Paul wrote, but also if we considered how he may have been thinking at the time - What God had done, was doing and will do.  God has indeed begun a great work and is faithful to complete it.

I know I am a bit of a dreamer but I am just going to say it – there is no place on earth like the church. A place where the poor are fed and clothed, the sick are helped and healed. Despite our differences in education and opportunity, opinions and politics, we are learning to love one another like Jesus loves us — unconditionally.

Trent shares on what is the last message before we move into our new home at 119 Richardson Road, Mt Albert. 

God’s love for His children is expressed in so many ways. Just like a mother for her own children, He expresses His love by nurturing, protecting and comforting. This message is a great reminder of the great sacrifice moms make and that God made for all his children.

The Word became flesh. Words are symbols signifying something beyond themselves. Words are not the thing themselves, but they are how we describe and communicate the idea of a thing. The Word of God, however, is God. The Word of God is Life and Light, and that Word became flesh! The Word made flesh, Jesus Christ, perfectly reveals God because he is God made flesh.

Rejoice in the lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! - Philippians 4:4

Kim Goodwin shares a fantastic message that reminds us during tough times in life, that... "There is a comfort bigger than your trauma", and that "Surely Jesus has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isiah 53:4).

Jesus is what God has to say and the crucifixion is inseparable from the identity of Jesus. All this is important to showing us a new way of living - we are called to be the Cruciform Ecclesia - the people whose lives are shaped by the cross.

Jesus final night was spent in one of his favourite places where he would go often to pray – the garden of Gethsemane. Gethsemane means "oil press" and it is here that the Anointed (the Christ) comes under immense pressure. It is here that we most clearly see the humanity of Jesus as he struggles with the will of the Father. And it is here that Jesus takes his stand for a peace that will...
