Hello and welcome to July. Well we finally did it, we watched the 1980's Friday the 13th. Join us this week to find out.

Lights Out 01.06.2026

We continue our month of mother's day movies with a horror mom that's more cautionary than some of our previously celebrated moms. We watched and finally got to record our episode for Lights Out. You'll have to listen to find out and join us next wee...

Housebound 21.05.2026

Did you watch Panic Room and think I loved this but I wish it were a tonal roller coaster that's both funny and scary? Well then you're in luck because we watched Housebound. A movie that scared Cyndi more than Panic Room by a country mile. Did we like it? Where we entertained? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.

Panic Room 13.05.2026

We begin our month of celebrating moms with a New York City Brownstone, a hidden fortune, a corn rowed Jared Leto, a sympathetic Forest Whitaker, a psychopathic Dwight Yoakum, a young Kristen Stewart, a protective motherly Jodie Foster, a meticulous director in David Fincher, and it all centers on a Panic Room. That's right we watched the 2002 David Fincher Panic Room join us if you dare.

Marshland 01.05.2026

We ended the month with a serial killer film that feels a little like Zodiac by way of True Detective Season 1. Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out.

The Secret in Their Eyes 20.04.2026

We watched The Secret in their Eyes. Not the American remake with Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman. The original 2009 film from Argentina and all we can say is wow. One of the great nearly forgotten revenge movies and a film that not only won major Goya awards but won best foreign language film at the Oscars. Did we like it? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out and enjoy this incredible...

Taking a Time Out 26.03.2026

Decision to Leave 13.03.2026

Back to back Chan Wook Park films on the Let's Scare My Girlfriend to Death timeline. To go from Thirst to Decision to Leave is notable in the way the films overlap and are at odds with one another. There are no monsters or vampires in this film. There are no sex scenes at least not in the same respect as Thirst. However, this film has twists, turns, longing for someone you can't or shouldn't be w...

Let the Right One In 08.02.2026

What a case of art mirroring real life. Do a month a series of movies about the cold and snow and get hit with two giant snow and ice storms. Apologies for the delay but here is our episode on Let the Right One In.    It has cold, snow, Sweden, romance, vampires, children, and some of the best/worst haircuts we've gotten to experience in a film for this podcast. Well after the incredible mullet in...

The Grey 26.01.2026

We watched The Grey Two. That's right two movies in a row set in the cold snowiness of Alaska. Except this time we are trading in vampires and the town of Barrow for wolves and the harsh unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Poorly marketed as a movie where Liam Neeson punches wolves. However, what we ended up with was this brutal, filmic poem of sadness, masculinity, and survival.    Did we like it? Di...

This week, we wander into the haunted cornfields of the American South — and straight into the eerie world of early ’80s made-for-TV horror — with Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981). To our knowledge, it’s one of the very first films to make a scarecrow the central monster of a horror story. Did we love it? Did Josh grow up watching it? And did it scare Cyndi half to death? Tune in this week to fi...
