We got a listener question!!! Well we get lots, so so so many. But this question from a listener was especially good so we did an episode about it. Turns out the war of the Roses had nothing to do with The Bachelor. Lax sends princes up to the prince farm to frolic with the other princes. Coonen switches accents so fast he has a stroke and Dr. History can barely keep it together.

Well we have a knock out for you this time with the first episode detailing the history around the Norman Conquest of 1066. It important to Brits, we promise. Coonen decides to a do all the accents badly and specifically, coin the first impersonation that Dr. History HATES. Lax does a serviceable southern accent and learns kind of where Wales is. Buckle up for a real medieval marathon.

This episode is a real surprise lesson in European history. And best thing about it, is might not even be true, but Dr Moral Scholar of History and Ethics has deemed it so. We are really following up on this teddy guy, Dr. History is forces to think about Ol' T.R. in a whole new, naughty, light. Coonen definitely doesn't know much about the hadron collider, and even less about history. Lax nails the intro and maybe even learned a lesson along the way.

Lax has big opinions about Tampa Bay and how to get out of there. Coonen thinks he knows about guns and doesn't and Dr. History hates doesn't like French Pants in the army is 1914.

Well this week we got ol' Theo, do the job of 7 men even though no one really asked him to. Wheeling and dealing, get him some battleship and talking real shit about Spain. We find out that Lax might actually be a fan of this show, Coonen's opinions are are wrong and he is loud and Dr History Scholar has a real heart felt message for one Ken Burns.

In the final episode of our John Paul Jones series, we find out what happens to an American captain with no American Navy. Turns out it is Russia. He Po-temp-couldn't get too far though... And Adam Lax continues to die of some new illness.

In part three of our John Paul Jones episode, we see our guy get nice and bloody on the high seas. Also, we learn were "docking" comes from. (Hint, its seamen). Adam Lax gives everyone Ebola/H1N1 and Dr. History explain how French Cannons are "premature". Enjoy!

Holy hell listener, Its part two of John Paul Jones, Naval captain of the American Revolution. He becomes a Ben Franklin Acolyte in France and then hissy fits all over the Scottish coast. Also, Adam C. goes off the rails on the sex jokes, why? because he can!

What is better than the bastard son of a gardener harassing British commerce? Giving him the voice of an angel and a penchant for rage. John Paul Jones has a real weird go of it. Also, Coonen does the impossible and Dr. History Scholar scratches his back.

We got pirates! And a sick ass queen to boot, Grace O'Malley. Adam Coonen tries to do a clean show (spoilers, he fails, real bad). Adam Lax doesn't really learn lessons and Dr. History Scholar learns a bunch. Hear about how this literal, killer pirate queen was born to kick ass and chew bubble gum but bubble bum wasn't invented yet.

This time around we learn about Robert Smalls, an enslaved man that saved himself, his family and many others from slavery. We get to learn the meaning of ride or die and southern accents abound. I say, I say, I say. the confederacy was stupid and we talk about it.

In this episode we talk about the very first female sheriff in English history, Nichola de la Haie. She kicked ass for the wrong king. Also Dr. Civics History Scholar sneaks in a lesson about democracy or rule of law or some such.... Also, the Adam's are particularly off the chain on this one.

In the second part of our Bass Reeves story, we find out that he got a saber in the most rad way possible, did a ton of befriending and really was a paragon of justice. Our hats off to him and his progeny who probably are just as rad.

This time around, we talk about a lesser known American hero. An official officer of the law, who came from as close to nothing there is. He's basically anti-batman. They should make a movie. Also we really lay into the Northern Europeans. The podcast heads west!!
