Last Of The Line
Last Of The Line
A podcast before the end. Last Of The Line is where a group of middle-aged friends meander through topics they don’t fully understand — mostly so our kids have something to remember us by when we inevitably die. We’re part of the last generation to grow up before the internet, standing at the edge of the analogue world as the AI tide rolls in. Before it washes us away completely, we’ve got a few things left to say.

Episode 7 - We’re Back, And We Survived 03.04.2026 2:28:03
In Episode 7, we introduce two new guests, and tackle the strange transitional era we seem to be living in. As the shared rituals and cultural moments we grew up with quietly disappear, we ask: are we the last generation to experience television and media as a collective event? From the staggering 37 million people tuning into the Queen's funeral to the frustrating modern reality of being 30 secon...
Episode 6 - It's Still Raining 18.03.2026 2:42:07
Episode Six begins with rain. Not light rain. Not passing showers. The kind that makes you question where you live, and whether it has always been like this. Dan and Adie join the group, and things start with a simple question about instruction manuals. Whether people still read them. Whether they ever did. And whether we were the last generation to at least pretend before immediately turning to Y...
Episode 5 - February Next, Urgh 24.02.2026 1:52:21
February Next, Urgh ☔ This week, we begin somewhere unexpected. We pay tribute to Hannah Corne — a woman who chose to live bravely, publicly and generously in the face of terminal illness. Her story cuts straight to the reason Last Of The Line exists: because later isn’t guaranteed, and conversations matter. From there, as ever, things escalate quickly. We ask whether we’re the last generation to...
Episode 4 - New Year New Me 26.01.2026 2:16:26
New Year, New Me 🍾🥂… Probably. In this episode, the group takes aim at New Year’s resolutions. Why we make them, why we abandon them, and whether the whole thing is just a calendar-based lie we tell ourselves every January. The conversation starts with optimism (or lack of it), before drifting into the realities of habit-building in midlife: fitness, drinking less, tracking everything, and the c...
Episode 3 - Christmas Special 14.01.2026 1:59:33
It’s the Last Of The Line 🧑🎄 Christmas Special 🎄 In this end-of-year episode, Sam, Jon, Dedders and Pompey gather in questionable festive outfits to ask the big seasonal questions: Have Christmas traditions died, or just quietly mutated? Are we still chasing the magic, or just efficiently managing stress, vouchers, and battery-powered Nerf weapons? From morning beers and micro machines to bike...
Last Of The Line - Trailer 12.01.2026 0:46
In this trailer for Last Of The Line , hosts Sam and Jon introduce a new podcast about standing at the edge of the analogue world, with their mates along for the ride. Are we the last generation who knew how to be bored? Did phones peak with the Nokia 3310? And why does a manual gearbox still feel… right? From nostalgia and technology to cars, conspiracy theories, and wildly confident predictions...
Episode 2 - Difficult Second Album 09.01.2026 2:01:00
In the second episode of Last Of The Line, Sam and Jon are once again joined by AJ and Samit for a wide-ranging conversation that starts with the slow death of talking to strangers, and somehow ends up with weather manipulation, Formula 1 predictions, and whether music made by AI can ever really mean anything. Along the way, we get stuck into our addiction to upgrades and updates that rarely chang...
Episode 1 - The Pilot 23.12.2025 1:43:59
In the first episode of the brand new Last Of The Line podcast, hosts Sam and Jon discuss a variety of topics with their friends AJ, Dedders, Pompey and Samit. We explore if we are the last generation that knows how to be bored, did phones peak with the Nokia 3310, if anyone still enjoy a manual gearbox, the first of the Conspiracy Theory Corner series about mind control experiments, a car auction...
