This section of Scripture reads a little like a soap opera and may not be appropriate for little kids to listen to if you aren’t prepared to do some explaining! Amnon, Tamar, and Absalom - David’s sons and daughter - create some significant drama and divisiveness that eventually brings an end to David’s reign in Jerusalem.

The heavens proclaim His righteousness, for God Himself is judge… God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Everyone has turned away… Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless… But it is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.

The Lord gave David victory everywhere he went.
