By the 1700s, the Catholic Stewarts of Scotland were tired of not being supported by England or Scotland. Robert Stewart loved Glasgow, but could not tolerate the harsh treatment they endured. He decided to leave his family home and move to Northern Ireland in an area known as Ulster.
