KZOO POETRY SLAM-CAST

A slight rewind, this poetry slam from 2002 was recorded right before the M.P.S.L. bout between Kzoo, Ann Arbor, and Chicago (episode 69) and features the poetry from: Keven Coval, Joel Chmara, Dawn Saylor, Beth Bullmer and a whole bunch more.

Teams from all over the Midwest compete in the MPSL (Midwest Poetry Slam League) using a whole new set of rules. This bout features a combined team from Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids vs Chicago vs Ann Arbor.

Each April the Kzoo Poetry Slam held a month-long tournament to pick the poets who would compete in that year’s National Poetry Slam. Karrie Waarala is the guest host and feature poet for round two of the 2002 Kalamazoo Poetry Slam semi-finals.
