Knights for the King

To better understand Revelation, Christ's prophecy in Matthew 24 must also be understood. It's always important to know the audience. Matthew 24 is Daniel's 70th prophetic week - the Tribulation Period! Listen to learn what's it all about and how it's not for the Church!

Church the Way it Oughta Be #11: The government of the local church. How is the local church to be governed? Who's in charge? What's the relationship of the church to the state? What's the role of pastors and deacons? What's your role? These questions and more are answered in this sermon!

Ending with “It is Well with my soul” song-story by Majesty Music (via YouTube)  A similar miracle under Elijah, now Elisha.  History repeats itself, so does ministry.  Keep going, do again and again; keep being caring, keeping helping others!  A Double portion is found in caring; a double portion is found in continuing; a double portion is found in having a positive outlook!  It shall be well!

Church the Way it Oughta Be #10: Involvement in the Local Church. What are spiritual gifts? Does every Christian have one? What's your job in the church? Does it even matter? These questions and more answered in this sermon!

A Double portion is found in caring; a double portion is found in continuing; a double portion is found in having a positive outlook!  It shall be well with your soul!

Church the Way it Oughta Be #9. This one's all about Acceptance in the Local Church! What does God say about economic equality, racial equality, overall unity, and getting along? These questions and more are answered in this sermon.

This woman did not have a lot but God stayed it; He let it continue and stand firm.  I want to preach today on “Little is Much when God is in it”.  It’s not just a hymn title – it’s a truth from God’s Word.  He can turn a little into a lot.  He can turn a mess into a masterpiece!  Do you believe that today?  The Lord says in His Word “God is able to make all grace abound toward you” (2 Cor. 9:8).

To have a double portion of God using us and blessing us, we are going to have to live in such a way that sets a good reputation.  We will often need to reprove ungodliness and we need to reveal to others what God has revealed to us in His Word.  When people see you, when people think of your name, do they know you as a servant and as a saint and as a speaker for God!?  If not, your reputation is...

Christ and His people will be mocked!

Special Christmas Cantata and Message!

Christians be salt in this world.  Speak up and speak out for Christ and His agenda!  Just like many people at the table, and they taste their bland food and say ‘please pass the salt’ let’s say that spiritually and add a little seasoning, a little flavor, and a little healing to our lives and nation.   Lost person, you are saltless and missing out.  In the OT there was a covenant of salt.  A sacr...

Revelation 4! Another glimpse of Heaven!

We finished Elijah with his going up in a whirlwind, but we are really just getting started with Elisha.  There’s a double portion still to come! 2nd Kings 2:11-18.    What I see in this short passage today is a great contrast of faith and unbelief.  We see the faith of Elisha, but the unbelief of the sons of the prophets.  I want to preach today on this:  Living by Faith.

A Glimpse of Heaven!

Church the Way it Oughta Be series #9 How important is prayer? What are we to pray for? For whom? Where? How? These questions and more are answered in this sermon on Prayer, along with an exciting miracle connected to prayer in the early church!

We come to the final story in Elijah’s life! He goes to up to Heaven in a whirlwind! The truth is, there's only 2 ways to enter Heaven: (1) Death or (2) Rapture. And that's only true for the Christian! So, are you going to Heaven?

We the audience come to view a new Act in our Drama - a major turn from an earthly setting to a Heavenly one. We have now seen what John "hast seen" and we've seen the "things which are", but now we are about to look into "the things which shall be hereafter" (Rev 1:19.) Oh what a Drama this will be!

Church the Way it Oughta Be series #8 What is Communion? Who should partake? How often should it be partaken of? Find out this and more in this message helping us to have "Church the Way it Oughta Be" !

Moving from Elijah to Elisha.   1st Kings 19:13-21. “anoint to be prophet in thy room”. Elisha was going to be anointed.  Anointing in the Bible could be for cleansing and beautifying, for healing, or for ordaining to specific job or ministry.  Elisha was about to receive an important call on his life, a special anointing! Every Christian is anointed.  The issue is not whether or not you are anoin...

We come to our last church on our Journey with Jesus - Laodicea. It was 40 some miles southeast of Philadelphia. Laodicea was a banking center, and as such was a wealthy city. The Church there shared in that wealth outwardly, but lacked in inward spiritual richness.

As we saw last time, the sins of King Ahab climaxed. He went to battle though warned not to by God's prophet and he died in his chariot! After him his son Ahaziah took the throne. Elijah was still alive though and God still had a purpose for him. A very troubling but miraculous event happens in 2nd Kings 1.

Lights, Camera, Action! We are 28 miles southeast of Sardis, still inland at the city of Philadelphia. This city was built by Tiberius, and now in modern Turkey. Philea and adelphod together mean "brotherly love" in Greek, and thus we have the city of brotherly love. Truly the church was growing in their love for God and for their brothers and sisters in Christ!

What does God say about Baptism? What does it mean? Immersion, pouring, sprinkling? Find out what the Bible says in this sermon!

Are you sold out to sin, or sold out to God.  1st Kings 21 shows us two very different men.  A man of God and man of Belial; a man of character and a man of sin.  We all need to be sold out to God.  Sell all for Him; sell yourself to Him.  He’s a well-paying Buyer!  The devil is not!

Lights, Camera, Action :  We find ourselves in another city, more suburban than the previous ones.  This was more inland, and just about 40 miles southeast of Pergamos.  Less busy than other towns, it still had its trades with organized and controlling trade unions.  Thyatira was known for its art of dyeing cloths, etc. This was true for dear Lydia, who was converted and baptized along with others...
