On August 29th, the US Forest Service began officially rescinding the 2001 Roadless Rule Act by opening for public comment on developing an environmental impact statement and conversation over the rescission. KMUD news spoke with the Environmental Protection Information Center (EPIC) about what this means for California's public lands. Nat Cardos reports.

Friends of the Eel River is celebrating its 30 year anniversary, coinciding with the with the removal of the Potter Valley dams, which the nonprofit has fought for since it was formed. Sigur-Björn has more.

The California Attorney General and lawyers for Providence St. Jospeh, Eureka squared off in court today over the hospital’s commitment to provide emergency abortions services in accordance a court-ordered stipulation and California law.
