In our sermon from John 16: 16-24, Jesus promises that the disciples upcoming sadness will turn into deep, lasting joy. He compares their grief to labor pains in childbirth—hard at first, but leading to a greater reward. When a person accepts Christ, he can expereince that same eternal Joy found only in the person of Jesus.

In Sunday's message, Pastor Johnson taught us that Jesus comforts His followers by explaining that His departure is necessary. He promises to send the Holy Spirit, which is part of the Holy trinity to abide in believers, convict the world of sin, and reveal God’s truth through His Word.

In our sermon, Jesus promises to send us the Holy Spirit to keep us from stumbling when we meet persecution and opposition in life that will require strength and perseverance if we are to keep going. Our calling as Christians is to have the same openness to the Holy Spirit today as the early church displayed thousands of years ago.

Learning from John 15:18-25, we hear Jesus warn His disciples that the world will hate and persecute them. Jesus explains that this hostility is inevitable because believers no longer belong to the sinful systems of the world, having been chosen by Christ. Ultimately, the world's hatred of Christians is a direct rejection of God Himself.

This week, we continued through the Vine and Fruit teaching of Jesus, looking closer at verses 9-17 of Chapter 15.   We learned that keeping God's commandments is a mark of our response to His love for us; our response must be unshakable trust and unwavering obedience, which bring joy to us and others. In this week's sermon we hear Jesus' final comforting message to His disciples before going to the cross, offering them the Holy Spirit, eternal peace, and the assurance of His victory over the sin and death. That comfort is also for us as believers in Christ.

In this week's sermon from the Gospel of John, chapter 14, verses 15-24, we hear Jesus and His promises that the disciples genuine love for Him will be shown through obedience to His commands. In return, He promises to send the Holy Spirit to guide and dwell within them forever. This applies to us today as the Church and followers of Christ.

In this week's sermon from the Gospel of John, Chapter 14, Jesus perfectly reveals the Father to those who believe. This is why Jesus said, “ He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father ’” (John 14:9). As the passage closes we also learn that Jesus answers our Prayers based upon His will, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The Gospel of John 14:1-6 is a message of comfort and divine assurance, given by Jesus in the Upper Room to his troubled disciples facing his imminent departure. The Gospel of John, Chapter 13 closes with both highs and lows. In this week's message we see the betrayal of Judas, followed by Jesus's command to love one another, before we hear that Peter will deny Christ three times. These themes are an excellent reflection of our own fickleness towards Christ and a reminder that in spite of that, Jesus loves us unconditionally.

Jumping back into the Gospel of John this week, we continue our study of the Upper Room Discourse and Jesus's example of service to his disciples through the act of washing feet. Through this simple, lowly act of service, we are reminded that as Christians we are called to equally serve both the body of believers and those that have not yet heard and believed the Gospel.

On our Covenant Sunday one year anniversary, we take a brief break from our study through the Gospel of John, to dive into 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. We hear that The Gospel of Jesus Christ holds us together as Christians more than anything else. Guest Speaker: Kobe Whitlock.

In this weeks message, we start off in the first eleven verses of chapter 13 in the Gospel of John, taking place in the upper room. Jesus takes a simple, servants task of washing feet and uses it as a real example of something only He can do - clean us from our sins.

Pastor Johnson finished up chapter 12 of the Gospel of John, teaching from John 12:37-50. This weeks message dives into the final statements of Jesus' public ministry, exploring the paradox of unbelief despite miraculous signs, the fulfillment of prophecy, and the fear of human approval.

We learned on Sunday that Jesus had absolute clarity on what His purpose was: to judge the world, cast out its ruler, and – through His death on the cross - draw all people to Himself. He did all this for you and for me and all we have to do is believe in the Light.

This past Sunday, we heard from John, Chapter 12, where Jesus declared that His time had come. The crowd anticipated a conquering King, but Jesus came as the suffering Savior. We learn that following him means daily self-denial, living not for this world, but for the glory of God and the life to come.

In this week's message, we dove into one of the most famous passages of John 12, telling of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Through this message, we are reminded of our great need for the Messiah.

Diving into chapter 12 of the Gospel of John, we see Jesus at a meal with Mary, Martha, Lazarus and the disciples. In this week's message, we look at five things we often cherish above Christ, but should not.

In this week's sermon, we see in the closing verses of John 11, the stark contrast between those who chose to trust in Jesus following the raising of Lazarus and the fear-driven plot of the religious leaders to kill him.

Looking at verses 28-44 in John 11, we see Jesus fulfilling the claim he made in the previous verses that He is the resurrection and the life by raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus is the great teacher of life and how we are to live and in these verses we will learn more about those truths.

This week, we dive into the 5th of the 7 great "I Am" statements, hearing Jesus declare that He is the Resurrection and the Life. A key understanding is that the resurrection is not merely an activity, but a person in Jesus Christ.

Continuing in the story of Lazarus and his resurrection from John 11:7-16, we see the tension between the humanity of the disciples and the divinity of Jesus. Through this miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead, the disciples' faith is strengthened.

This week's sermon begins our time in the well-known story of the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. Reading in John 11:1-6, we learn more about suffering in our lives and dive into some of the reasons God allows it.

Chapter 10 in the Gospel of John comes to a close with Jesus declaring to the Jewish leaders that "the Father is in me and I am in the Father". This is one of the clearest statements made by Jesus in the New Testament, pointing to his Deity.
