Yorkville is once again hosting a Makers Market to showcase artisan craft goods this weekend in Riverfront Park.

After approving 20% annual water rate hikes for 5 consecutive years, Yorkville is considering even steeper rate hikes. It all comes down to incoming construction bids being low and the city's federal loan getting out of "limbo" on the $224.4 million Lake Michigan water project.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the parking lot of State Rep. Stephanie Kifowit’s district office in Aurora.

Concert goers in Montgomery will have to wait a little longer to hear the legendary Wayne Messmer for the village’s America 250 Celebration Concert in the Park. The village postponed the concert to July 1 due to the forecasted thunderstorms this evening.
