The Book of Zephaniah makes us consider two aspects of God's character. On one hand his implacable justice and on the other his perfect love and his ultimate plan for his creation. Zephaniah warns an errant Judah that they must change their ways or face a terrible fate, which comes in the form of exile to Babylon.

Nahum prophesies the downfall of Nineveh, highlighting both God’s judgment and goodness. Divine retribution is explained, enacted, and celebrated, contrasting God’s patience with eventual justice

In this sermon we think about the unique dialogue in the Book of Habakkuk - the prophet challenging God as to why He allows injustice to go unpunished. In the end, God reveals that He will judge the wicked, teaching His people to live by faith and find their joy in Him regardless of their situations.

The third in our series, Amos from Judah, brings a message to the prosperous Northern Kingdom of Israel, condemning their rampant social injustice, greed, and religious hypocrisy. And yet he concludes with a promise of future restoration and mercy for a remnant.

This is our second in this series. The prophet warns of an impending "Day of the LORD" urging the people to recognize this divine judgment and repent, as even the earth shakes before this devastating, disciplined force. We reflect too on Jesus’ use of “The Day of the Lord”.

This will be the first of or new series of Minor Prophets from the Old Testament. God shows through the drama of Hosea the prophet, his wife Gomer, and their family, an urgent warning for his people Israel to turn back to him, & his great redeeming love for them.
