Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

Father, mother, son, daughter, boss, employee...we shoulder so many different roles..but our job in all of them is the same. As you move through the world, a believer in Jesus...the impression of the Spirit in your life will be evident in the way you live out each of these roles. In the light of that higher purpose, we will express His love.

magine the world as a minefield, ready to derail your walk with Jesus the second you make a misstep. Pastor Daniel shows us in Ephesians 5, how the Lord promises to give us wisdom...and when we embrace it, that light will illuminate the darkness around us. Couples will offer up many reasons for divorcing, but one we've all heard said is “We just weren't happy.” Happiness wasn't God's primary goal in creating marriage. As Pastor Daniel will explain, what God wants is for us to be holy, and when we submit to His will for a godly marriage, happiness is an outgrowth of that.

Whether you've been married for decades or are newly wedded, sometimes marriage seems like a tangled mess of confused expectations and miscommunication. God actually created marriage as a beautiful union. Today we'll see how the roles outlined in Ephesians 5 embrace that ideal...and clear up misconceptions about them.

If you want to know what someone believes, just look at their life. Other people can see what you believe, too. If you profess to be a believer, but are engaging in behaviors that clash with the truth of the Word...then something's off. Changing a destructive behavior is great, but its not everything. There's a calling that we all have, and you don't have to go looking for it, or wonder about it...we are all called to evangelize. Though our roles may differ, there is a common thread, and that's to communicate the love and saving grace of Jesus. Say you were playing a game with someone, they had to guess an object you were thinking of with only one word as a clue. You say “red”. The object could be so many things. People play this game all the time with God, embracing one attribute of His and ignoring the others. But as we'll hear in today's teaching, that only leads to an untrue picture of who God is. We want the FULLNESS of Him.

A walk isn't just a walk. Sometimes we walk with determination and purpose, other times we meander and daydream. As our lives march forward, each day is a series of choices, commitments and responsibilities, and we should want to walk in the light of God's grace. As we'll see today, our lives should speak to who Jesus is, even when we are oblivious that others are watching.

If you've constructed anything in your life...a knitted item, a model car, a piece of IKEA furniture...you've had the experience of making a mistake and having to take it all apart. It's such a pain..but necessary in order to get it right. The people closest to God's character are those who recognize their utter brokenness and allow Him to build them again...perfecting His vision through grace.

Picture someone who is most unlike you in their background, beliefs and lifestyle. Now imagine them saved. They're your brother or sister, part of the family of God. It may seem nearly impossible, but as we'll see today, that's why the Apostle Paul was so astonished at God's plan...for everyone to come together in Him. Jews, Gentiles, every nationality...bonded by a Savior.

Every decision you make, every word you utter, every thought in your head...reflects what you believe. Today in Pastor Daniel's message from Ephesians 3, we'll see how our declarations of faith mean very little if we don't follow through in our actions. Most of us can think of a time where things fell apart...and our declarations of “I trust you Jesus!” fell silent. But, that's where grace comes i...
