Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

We all wonder about why things happen the way they do…especially when it comes to devastation and loss. We wish Jesus would come back now. The disciples thought that, too, as we’ll hear in today’s message. Pastor Daniel will lead us through the Word as it tells us how our questions are no different than those of the disciples…but the answer is the same: God’s perfect timing.

God has authority over everything. It’s written in the Bible, but how often do we really consider what that covers? No matter how mild-mannered a person you are, anger bubbles up in all of us. If you have a hair-trigger response to others who rile you up…it’s probably the wrong reaction. As Pastor Daniel teaches today, usually the right response comes after thoughtful consideration. When you react from your flesh, a bad situation can only grow worse, like a cancer fed by anger and rage.

Reacting to being wronged with grace is totally illogical. It’s not a ‘normal’ reaction to want to bless those who do evil to us, but that’s what a believer is called to do. As Pastor Daniel reads the account of Jacob’s sons delivering vengeance on the man who violated their sister…we’ll have to let go of our fleshly response in order to come to an understanding of what Jesus would do.

Think about all the times you raise your hands and cheer…at a sporting event, a concert...but what about for the Lord? How often do you lay it all out for Him? Every day should be a surrender to Him, and as we study the example of Jacob and Esau and their brotherly reunion, Pastor Daniel will challenge us to engage in true worship twenty-four hours a day…His joy in our lives.

God wants to change your reality. But, sometimes it takes a wrestling match to make it happen. That’s exactly what happened to Jacob when he wrestled with a man for a night…and was defeated. As Pastor Daniel will show us, though…at the end of the day, Jacob has a new name. He’s changed. Some circumstances will change you forever, but God gives you a new name.

There is a blessing in hard times for those who believe in Jesus…it’s the time that we most often pray with fervency. Today, we’ll find that Jacob’s fear brings him to God in humility and faith. Jacob understands he’s not worthy of all God has done for him. Pastor Daniel will wonder what would happen if we stayed close to God during good times…seeking Him with passion, always.

When you speak before thinking, you might commit yourself to something you wish you hadn’t. Then, you’re in a tough spot… a liar for not keeping your word, or you follow through with something that’s not God’s will. In this teaching from Pastor Daniel, Jacob puts himself in that position when he vows that whoever stole Laban’s idols will be put to death…not knowing it was his wife.

Oh, jealousy. If you have ever envied someone when they are blessed by God, know that it robs you of enjoying the blessings He has for you. In today’s teaching, we’ll hear Pastor Daniel speak about how our Father’s love is not a competition. Just like our own kids, we don’t love one at the expense of another. When we’re busy being envious, we miss what He’s doing in our own lives.

People are going to let you down, it’s unavoidable. We, ourselves, will let others down. A constant comfort Is the reminder that God is not people. He’ll never let us down…and in Pastor Daniel’s message today, Laban tries to swindle Jacob out of what he is owed. But, God works through the deal with his father-in-law to prosper Jacob in spite of it…forever faithful.

Desperation can drive us straight off the rails of our walk with Jesus.
