Jeff and Julie Move to France (during a global pandemic)

After a terrific experience in the Gers region last week, we doubled down and returned there with a visit to La Romieu. Glad we did. Be sure to check out this beautiful Village if you find yourself in France's Southwest. If you have time, go have some fun with the Buffalo as well.

This week in France included a bird attack, the total destruction of our living room due to a turned ankle and a fantastic visit to the vibrant village of Lectoure.

It's been another extremely hot week in France. Not hot enough to cancel the Villeneuve Sur Lot Air show though. And if you've ever wondered how large planes appear in strange places, wonder no more.

This week, Jeff wraps up his trip back to Canada, and says goodbye to a long standing Canadian institution. Julie has more on the French heatwave, and yes, the pooping Falcons are back.

It was only a week, but Jeff crammed a lot into his trip back to Canada. So much so, that we will need two episodes to unpack it all. Also on this week's show, a former Air Canada pilot is in hot water after it was discovered that he flew the big birds for years without the proper qualifications.

Julie recently spent a week in Bordeaux for medical reasons, and used her free time to check out a couple of must-see museums. We get into that, and share our wonderful Alpaca shearing adventure with friends.

This week, we pay tribute to P.K. Subban, as he realizes his goal donation of $10 Million to the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation. Also on the docket, a stop in to the jaw-dropping Sunday market in Montcuq.

While the U.S. was losing an airline, Canada received its largest order ever to build passenger planes from Airbus in Montreal. We will address a number of aviation stories from this past week. Also on tap, a review of Canada's Top 100 restaurants, and a visit to the Garlic capital of France.

While attending some medical appointments in Bordeaux, we decided to pass by St. Emilion's little Brother, Pomerol. We also discuss more French initiatives dealing with Smart-phones. And the jet-fuel shortage is real, and has begun affecting flights in France.

All jokes aside, we had a wonderful walk through the incredible Cork Museum in the gorgeous village of Mezin. A truly enjoyable adventure. This week, we also take a deep dive into the bizarre practice of home-buying using the "viager" option.

Busy weeks mean busy podcasts. On 202, we talk about the new travel protocols to Europe, French table etiquette, our Carte de Sejour application and a wonderful visit to a local apiary.

After an incredibly weird week of world news, we are back with another adventure. This week we walked the charming 14th century village of Bélaye, in the Lot. There's also more debate about the upcoming European labour day on May 1st.

This week, we took an educational walk back in time with a visit to the Agricultural and Automotive Heritage Museum in Salviac.

At the top of the Lot region, sits a most intriquing Castle, the Chateau de Lantis. This week we talk about its amazing renovation and the family who has spent the better part of 30 years bringing it back to life. We also talk about the food truck industry here in France.

After driving by it dozens of time, we finally checked out the Rody Chocolate Museum & Boutique in Castillonnes. What a great experience. Move over Willie Wonka. Also in this Chapter, you'll find out just how much the Brits love their dogs.

This week, we wrap up our amazing trip to Barcelona with a visit to the Picasso museum. And we introduce you to a Canadian who's making positive waves in British Columbia, Tod Maffin.

What an eventlful week. We battled storm Nils, and won. Then embarked to beautiful Barcelona with our friends Brian and Angela Hayward. This is part one of our trip.

Julie was benched for Chapter 194, to make way for our friend Brian Hayward, whom Jeff met while in Winnipeg in the 80's. Brian was an NHL goalie for the Winnipeg Jets and later the Montreal Canadians, to name a couple, and now continues his long run as TV Hockey Analyst for the Anaheim Ducks.

This week, we took a stroll through the many half-timber structures of Clairac. Truly amazing. Up the road a bit, the World Economic Forum was unfolding in Davos, and Canada's Prime Minister served notice with a speech that moved the dial. We discuss that as well.

It has been a fantastic week here in South West France. We received some amazing news regarding our Solar field grievance. And, we were treated to a lovely afternoon in the charming village of Villefrance du Perigord.
