I've Got Aux

Ally is on aux this week and takes the crew back to 1972 with Jim Croce's "Operator (That's Not the Way It Feels)." We talk breakup songs, the relevance of quality music even decades later when removed from the signs of their times, and Croce as a songwriter. Ally also makes fun of Gavin (per usual).

Gavin is on aux this week and chose "Rumble" by  Skrillex, Fred Again and Flowdan. This is a bit out of the crew's comfort zone, despite Bella being our elected electronic music representative. Gavin walks us through how he found the song, the gals relay their histories with Skrillex, and we chat about the merging of different genres to create songs like this. 

Bella is on aux this week and chose "Look At Us Now (Honeycomb)" by Daisy Jones & The Six. She successfully notes Ally will not like this song, and the crew chimes in with what makes a good Fleetwood Mac inspired song versus a bad one. We also discuss the role of soundtracks in films and if they can be standalone works of art. 

Ally is on Aux this week and chose "Back Door Man" by The Doors. Ally glosses over Lizard King lore and tries to convince the crew this song is awesome despite The Doors' status. Bella and I also suggest which kinds of protein sources we'd be.

Ally is on Aux this week and chose "Don't Wanna Love U" by joe p. We chat about the golden age of indie, how you can tell an artist is going to be good live from their recorded work, and Gavin just really likes that joe p is from New Jersey.

Gavin is on aux this week and plays the newest single from The 1975, "All I Need to Hear." We talk about the upcoming era of the 1975 and the girls surprise Gavin with tickets to see The 1975 in Chicago. Ally buys a ticket shortly after.
