It Was Murder Podcast

We followed Jonathan Frakes back to our "homeland" of Hart to Hart with "Harts and Palms"! Will we have the same opinion of this episode as we did two years ago?

We followed Bebe Neuwirth to Star Trek: The Next Generation "First Contact" (S4:E15) and we wrangled "trekspert" Brooks Peck onto the show! In this episode, we are asked to join the federation of Trekkies and we decline. (not really, they didn't want us)

We spoil the hell outta this movie in record time, so please proceed with caution. We followed George C. Scott to 1993's Malice and man oh man we had a time.

We followed Melvyn Douglas to 1979's The Changeling! We talk all of the ghosty things, including seance cones? Anyone know what the hell that was? Anybody?

We followed Charles Laughton to The Old Dark House (1932) and we had a potato, smashed a lamp, and had a boring romance. Join us, won't you?

We followed Robert Mitchum to 1955's Night of the Hunter! We brought back one of our favorite guests Corey J. Brewer to discuss this once maligned, now lauded (camp?) classic! Hope you aren't triggered by hymns.

AUDIO ISSUES at the beginning, but we kinda figure them out. Anyway, who the hell has to "retake" drama class during summer school???

We followed Joe Grifasi to 1994's controversial classic Natural Born Killers and regardless of how we felt about the movie, we had a great time discussing it for three goddamn hours. Strap in, kids.

Following Sara Botsford to 1982's Still of the Night proved to be a great move! Even better, we got to have Guy 5teen (aka Travis Vogt from The Suspense is Killing Us Podcast) back to talk about how awesome harmonica music is.

We followed Terence Stamp from...erotic..Canada?... to the 1986 Manhattan art scene in the film Legal Eagles, a favorite of Ellen's and Erik's, but will Joe be charmed by this legit mess of a movie? Or will it cause him to question the entirety of the podcast and his understanding of performance art? Listen to find out.

We forced Travis Vogt (The Suspense is Killing Us Podcast) to follow Marie-Josée Croze from Paris to...uh...90s Paris? Who the hell knew there was a late 90's erotic thriller series on Showtime named after the Tony Scott classic film The Hunger? We didn't, but we do now, and we can't unlearn this information.

We took the train with Kristin Scott Thomas to Paris for Tell No One, and oh boy does Joe not like U2!

Following Laurence Fox to Gosford Park was a great move! Spoiler alert!! We spoil the movie quickly and we have no idea how to pronounce Ryan Philippe's name.

We followed Timothy Dalton from sunny Los Angeles to snowy England only to watch him get murdered by one of ten awful people. A controversial "Marple" adaptation brings up more questions than answers, the foremost of which being WHO IS "NERDRY"???

We followed Marilu Tolo into Charlie's Angels!!! Though we don't think this is the best place to start with Charlie's Angels (Season 4 episode 5), it definitely pleased your three hosts.

We followed Jon Saxon all the way to Etruscany in 1982s The Scorpion with Two Tails. Sadly, we lose him about five minutes in, but we're left with a couple other movies made for TV smashed into one grindhouse trifle.

Following Olivia Hussey to Black Christmas (1974) was a great decision! A truly terrifying OG slasher that has aged like wine and inspires some surprising conversations. Or just long, rambling ones.

Following Angela Lansbury into Egypt for 1978's Death on the Nile was the right move for your intrepid team! With an insanely stacked cast of amazing stars who are having a blast on screen, how will we ever choose our next link??! AHH! KILLINGS! ALL THE TIME KILLINGS!

Our first link, Patrick Macnee, plays a washed up vaudevillian actor, but no one cares because there are two Angela Lansburys in this episode.

We're back, and with a DOUBLE TWIST!! Welcome to It Was Murder: Chain Reaction! Details in the pod.

We did it! Now we talk about doing it for 3 hours!

It's the final piece of available Hart to Hart media! That means Joe's final rewrite, Erik's final poke, and Ellen's no longer glad we asked. But we don't want to be done, so it's not done, okay? it's NOT!

The penultimate Hart to Hart movie is like a drinking game of Hart scenarios with some Australian cocaine thrown in to keep things peppy. It's too bad it just leaves you exhausted.

Your hosts are as rambling and unfocused as this movie.

Hopefully you can hear us over our earrings! The Harts are in SF, Jason Bateman is annoying, Michael Parks is bizarre, and it's our last go with Max. But will the unfulfilled promise of a pirate ship finale bring this one down?
