Canadian webcomicker, Kate Beaton joined the Inkstuds to discuss all things historical, Canadian and good. I normally don†t really get into webcomics very much, but I really love what Kate does. You can keep to date with Kate†s awesomeness at her livejournal.

Chris Von Szombathy Joins us to discuss his book, Fire Away . As a part of the Petit Livre series from Drawn and Quarterly, Chris†s book is an outstanding collection of beautifully rendered pop-culture rejection. Continuing our month long focus on Canadian cartoonists, the Inkstuds sat down for drinks with Marc Bell to discuss his book Stacks from Drawn and Quarterly. This is the first of many Petite Livre interviews I will be doing with some fine Canadian talents. I think that Marc and I have another interview yet to be done to discuss his work on a larger scale, so look forward to more.

Ray Fenwick joined us to discuss his latest book, Hall of Best Knowledge as well as work in Mome . Ray help us kick off the Inkstuds month long focus on Canadian cartoonists. This will be the first of many interviews with some fantastic talents.

Tom Neely joined us to discuss his book, The Blot. The Blot is one of the more original comix I have read in awhile, and an enjoyable surreal journey. Check it out, and he also has a comic for the Melvins coming out as well.

Steve Ditko is one of the more enigmatic creators in the comics world. Very few photo†s of Steve exist in public printing even though he was behind one of the most important comics characters. Blake Bell †s biography of Steve Ditko from Fantagraphics , is an excellent look into the work of Ditko and who he was as a creator. Blake joined us to discuss the book and Ditko.

Jessica Abel and Matt Madden joined us to discuss their stack of new books, Drawing Words and Writing Pitcures , Life Sucks and the softcover edition of La Perdida . They are some of the most knowledgable folks in the comix world and have lots to share.
