In Pursuit of Education

Jean Claude Niyomugabo, a master’s student from Rwanda, came to the United States to deepen his understanding of agriculture with the goal of returning home to share his knowledge and contribute to his country’s development. He reflects on what building connections in America has been like and outlines the aspirations he holds for his future.

Starting college is difficult regardless of where you're from but for Daniela Quero Garcia she has found herself navigating the waters of freshman year hundreds of miles from her original home. Growing up in Cuba, Daniela talks about the successes and challenges of her freshman year in America and what she has learned along the way. 

In this episode, we hear from M.A.U. Shariff, a PhD student from Chittagong, Bangladesh, as he explains his experience preparing to come to America for his education. From applying to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to having his Visa approved, Shariff shares the pains and praises of journeying to the United States.
