In our rebellion against God, we have declared war with Him. But God entered into our world to bring peace and this peace allows us to not only be made right with Him but with the world around us.

Joy results when our deepest longings find their rest in the promises of God.

Our hope is rooted in the promises of God which never fail.

[21] And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. [22] And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” [23] But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”

In what sense was David a man after God’s own heart? David shows us that our lives are measured not by what we can accomplish but by our relationship with God.

God is able to redeem even the darkest, most shameful moments of our life and use them for his glory.

David is not given to us as a moral example. Instead, he models for us a heart of honest confession and heartfelt repentance because he knows that the God he worships is great in mercy.

A broken world filled with wrongdoing and sin cries out for justice, but justice without mercy leaves no survivors. Only the cross of Christ can meet this need for both justice and mercy.

Difficult seasons in life often cause us to doubt that God is for us; but when we remember His faithfulness and hold fast to His promise, we discover the peace of His protection no matter what may come our way.

The struggle to find wisdom is not a matter of the head but the heart. To live wisely is to entrust our lives to God, believing the promises he has given to us through Christ.

What set David apart from everyone else was not his ability to live a moral life but his ability to humble himself and hear God's voice through flawed messengers even in the difficult circumstances brought about by his own sin. ​Click to listen to our latest sermon.

David's inability to manage his household shows us how sin gives rise to more sin. But his brokenness reminds us of our own and our need for a loving Father who longs to restore us and make us whole.

Our brokenness is often replicated in our children revealing the depths of our sin which knows no bounds. But God's grace is greater than our sin, and it sometimes expressed in the way that He disciplines those He loves.

We often struggle to give to the church with generosity and joy because we think we have more to lose than we have to gain. God calls us to give and to serve not so much because he wants to do a work through us, but because He wants to do a work in us.
