I'll See You In HELL!! A Podcast about movies that kick ass and take names!!!

Tv EN ↓ 97 episodes

Two mediocre white guys, recall and review classic movies of the past and present. Try to imagine a conversation you might have with a 90s era video store clerk about what you should watch tonight. We WILL tackle films that won't often be discussed as Oscar worthy but are always considered entertaining. We will argue, agree and attempt to mimic accents of the most classic one liners and movie tropes. Come prepared to laugh and it is ALWAYS a good idea to listen after you have seen the film and not before.

Episodes

The Lost Boys (1987) - “Great! The bloodsucking Brady Brunch!” (Episode 45) 26.10.2021

We welcome our old friend, Sara, back to discuss THE greatest 80s vampire movie, The Lost Boys. It is a true time capsule and also the best film to ever feature TWO dudes named Cory.

Casino Royale (2006) - "Now the whole world's gonna know that you died scratching my balls!" (Episode 44) 23.10.2021

In honor of Daniel Craig's amazing run as James Bond, we go back and visit his FIRST attempt at this iconic character.  We discuss the very unique torture scene and how Nathan wishes this movie had more special effects and super heroes.

Dune (1984) PART 2 - "It is by will alone I set my mind in motion." (Episode 43) 12.10.2021

Welcome to the second of our two part discussion of the 1984 epic, Dune. We also talk at length about our nervous excitement for the new Dune.  Check back to hear what we think after we see it.

Dune (1984) PART 1 - "I must not fear, fear is the mind killer" (Episode 42) 07.10.2021

Wow.... What an incredible and ambitious film for 1984. The fellas welcome back Nathan's brother plus Rob, a DND friend of theirs, to discuss this remarkable movie. 3 of the 4 people on this podcast had read the books and Ollie still managed to throw in the occasional insight or two.  ALL 4 are super excited to see this movie re-imagined in a couple weeks with the release of the 2021 look at...

Terminator 2 Judgement Day - "I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle" (Episode 41) 30.09.2021

The boys are back talking Arnold... We mostly agree on everything in this EPIC FILM from the 90s. The group agreed that only one major cast change might have been appreciated. We also share our memories of the first time we saw this classic. Ollie shares that this was actually the first movie he ever owned, and it was expensive.

Terminator - "Come with me if you want to live" - Episode 40 01.09.2021

The fella's welcome back Nathan's brother to discuss the movie that launched an icon, and a governor. We will be recording an episode on T2 very soon as well.

Demolition Man - "Be Well!".... "Be F*cked!" (Episode 39) 31.08.2021

After a longer than planned break, the fellas are back to talk about the spooky foreshadowing in this 90s classic. Are we essentially living this world right now??  discuss and debate this topic at length, we did.

Cobra - "You're the disease, and I'm the cure!" (Episode 38) 16.07.2021

After a LONG break we are back!!! We are starting off again with an absolutely insane 1986 classic, Cobra.   How the hell did this movie get made???

Strange Brew - "I am your father, Luke. Give in to the dark side of the force, you knob." (Episode 37) 04.06.2021

The fella's welcome back a Canadian legend to talk about this legendary Canadian comedy. Norm joins up to discuss what it was like to attend a hogwarts like school with Ollie, what real Canadians think of this movie and how much he believes that while Canada is "America's hat", the US is Canada's beta test.

Iron Eagle - "I wonder what a Cessna looks like splattered all over those rocks" (Episode 36) 21.05.2021

This week Nathan and Ollie welcome back our old friend Tony to discuss one of his favorites from the 80s, Iron Eagle. This movie came out shortly before Top Gun and appropriately set the bar for jet fighter films so low that Top Gun was able to CRUSH IT.  Can you believe they made MULTIPLE sequels to this film?

Major League - "Up your Butt Jobu!!" (Episode 35) 04.05.2021

Nathan and Ollie welcome an old friend and colleague, Bryan, to discuss this springtime classic.  Baseball is back and every year that time comes around, I think of this epic comedy with just about the most perfect cast.    (The delay in this episode is Oliver's fault as he had the nerve of going out of town on vacation... such a JERK!)

Tombstone - "I'll be your Huckleberry!" (Episode 34) 11.04.2021

Nathan and Ollie welcome an old friend to his first ever show with us, Tony. He brought the heat with a WEALTH of knowledge and trivia about this early 90s western classic. Was this the best ever Val Kilmer movie??  Hard to argue against that.

Total Recall - "I've got five kids to feed..." (Episode 33) 03.04.2021

Nathan and Ollie go deep into the background on this Arnold classic and tackle the really serious questions. Was it a dream? would we sign up to have imaginary vacations? What were the most important things we looked for in our movie diet when we were 10-13 years of age??

Weird Science - "So, what would you little maniacs like to do first?" (Episode 32) 15.03.2021

Nathan and Ollie welcome Jason back to go deep into the weeds on this much loved John Hughes classic. Is this the best of his films? we don't know for sure but we do know that there was very little "Science" behind this science fiction teenage fantasy film.

Back to the Future - "What's with the Life Preserver!?!?!?" (Episode 31) 01.03.2021

We welcome back Lau to discuss this ICONIC 1985 film, Back to the Future. Is this the greatest thrill ride movie of its time? it is a perfect 80s movie? we hash it out as well as the current market price for a Delorean. We also discuss some of the less than ideal 80s fashions are thrilled they have not come back to haunt us.. Nathan in a Belly shirt would be terrifying.

Red Dawn - "WOLVERINES!!!!!" (episode 30) 08.02.2021

The fellas spend another episode tackling what could also be considered one of the most patriotic films of the 1980s, Red Dawn. This nostalgic trip also includes a discussion about how this entire country is so great, especially rural communities that seem like a distant experience to what we typically see every day in Seattle.

Rocky IV - "I must break you!" (Episode 29) 31.01.2021

Probably the greatest Rocky movie of all time and the most ridiculous. Do you remember that this movie had a robot that plays music, has a mobile phone and delivers cakes?  This movie is almost entirely made up of montages. Nathan's pride for his fellow Coug, Drago, was shown through in this episode where we welcomed Chris back.

Highlander - "There can be only one!" (Episode 28) 22.01.2021

We welcomed Nathan's brother Jason back to discuss a film they both adored as younger bros. This crazy mid 80s wizard like tale is definitely in Nathan's wheel house. When he eventually let me speak, he was surprised to learn that I DID NOT hate this one. In truth I think he was a little disappointed.

Firefox - "Can you fly that plane?? Really fly it??" (Episode 27) 17.01.2021

This one has a special place in my heart from my childhood. We decided to do two weeks of films that meant something to us as kids and mine came first. This 1982 classic is still good in my opinion but Nathan and his girlfriend hated it of course.

Starship Troopers - "M.I. Does The Dying. Fleet Just Does The Flying." (Episode 26) 06.01.2021

Happy New Year!  The fella's welcome back Nathan's brother, Jason, to talk about this amazing late 90s classic, Starship Troopers.   Jason and myself were shocked to discover that Nathan didn't know this movie was fascist themed.  We were ALL later shocked to discover that Nathan coined a new "ism".      "Fun Facism!"

Gladiator - "Brothers, what we do in life echoes in eternity" (Episode 25) 26.12.2020

Merry Christmas!  The fellas welcome back their friend Chris to discuss this 2000 epic, Gladiator. We also spend a good deal of time talking about the major industry impacting news, regarding WB moving all of their 2021 movie line up to Streaming and theater release at the same time.  Does this mean the end of going to the movies? we hope not.

Pulp Fiction (Part 2 of 2) - "Aw, man. I shot Marvin in the face" (Episode 23) 16.12.2020

Nathan and Ollie conclude their EPIC discussion of possibly the greatest movie that Tarantino ever made.  We spend a good deal of time trying to rationalize why QT can push the limits of dialogue, commentary, violence and messaging in this current age.

Pulp Fiction (Part 1 of 2) - "What do they call a whopper?" "I don't know, I didn't go to Burger King" (Episode 23) 09.12.2020

This officially Nathan's favorite movie of all time so our conversation went so long we had to break it up into 2. We discuss how much we love all of the Tarantino films and how we can't fully understand how he gets away with being so violent, politically incorrect and indifferent to Hollywood norms and requirements.  Part 2 will be posted next week.

Planes Trains and Automobiles - "Those aren't PILLOWS!!!!!" (Episode 22) 26.11.2020

In honor of the greatest holiday of the year, the fellas tackle the 1987 Turkey day classic, Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Nathan & Ollie go into great detail about their individual holiday movie traditions. This is easily one of the BEST John Candy movies of all time and this film also contains the GREATEST customer service scene to ever grace a screen.

The Rock - "I only borrowed your Humveee!!" (Episode 21) 21.11.2020

Due to the recent death of screen legend, Sir Sean Connery, we diverted our plans to cover this 1996 Michael Bay classic.. Get ready for a hell of a ride as we dissect the good and the bad of this insanely good / hilarious film.
