I Finally Watched...

The completion of Tarantino films is now! This was very meaningful to us because Tarantino is one of our favorite directors and now we can say we watched all of his films! Starting off our Tarantino Month strong with his underrated Neo noir film, Jackie Brown (1997). Love it or hate it, this underrated stoner film is a brutal addition to his repertoire! The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (2005) isn't a direct adaptation to the books... or the radio play... or the tv show, however its a ton of fun with a great cast! And what can go wrong by starting the movie with a musical sung by dolphins! WE HAD A FAB TIME REVIEWING THIS FILM!

"A car thief is forced to steal 50 luxury vehicles in one night" sounds like the plot to Fast X, but its actually a Nicholas Cage film from 2000. Gone in 60 Seconds also stars Angelina Jolie and Robert Duvall, Timothy Olyphant is also in this. This is not a film we wanted as 30 year olds in 2022, but it is when we were 14 in 2000.

Which Cameron Diaz movie was your sexual awakening?? For David it was The Mask, but for 6 year old Alain, it was There's Something About Mary (1998) Starring Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, and Matt Dillon. There are obvious jokes that didn't hold up in this film, but we still found ourselves laughing our franks and beans off during some parts of it!

Who's Harry Crumb? (1989) or a better question is who made this movie?? Starring John Candy, Annie Potts, and Jeffrey Jones, this film is about a detective who is very much a buffoon. This movie did not age well, I say that but looking at the ratings it got when it came out, it might have aged the same way!

God I love this film! L.A. Confidential (1997) fits right into everything I love about movies; it's dark, gritty, mysterious and most importantly its crime/crime (which apparently is a genre of film) We break down the movie and talk about each of its wonderful characters! Al Pacino's film Dog Day Afternoon (1975) is such a strange film mad stranger on the fact it is based on a true story! And while Pacino brings charisma to the role, the real life dude is not so charming! Directed by Sidney Lumet, same director as 12 Angrey Men and Serpico

Extract (2009) is one of those smaller films, that might not get many accolades, however it is underrated and deserves a little more attention than it gets. Our final film for kingdom month, Kingdom of Heaven (2005) might be Ridley Scott's best movie to date, however many people might never know that since that statement is only true for The Director's Cut and its so hard to find! Orlando Bloom stars as a blacksmith rescuing a woman above his status once again in Pirates of- I mean, Kingdom of Heaven.

Another kingdom film incoming with, Moonrise Kingdom (2012), our third Wes Anderson for the podcast and most definitely not our last! We found this movie absolutely charming and surprising. Continuing our kingdom craze, we watched Animal Kingdom (2010) a Neo-noir Australian crime drama that is about a family as brutal as a pride of lions. Starring Ben Mendelsohn, Jacki Weaver, Guy Pearce, Joel Edgerton, and James Frecheville

It's March and we decided, for no particular reason at all, to review four films all with the word KINGDOM in the title! And what better way of starting off is with The Kingdom (2007) starring Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Ashraf Barhom. Directed by Peter Berg!

Football Football Football! Watching the entire television showing and this movie, I can safely say the show is better, however Friday Night Lights (2004) does have it's merits and like the show, it has clear eyes, full hearts and it can not lose! Alain did not enjoy this movie when he first saw it along time ago, however that is because he was too young to appreciate the intricacy of Philip Seymour Hoffman's comedic acting. Along Came Polly (2004) stars Ben Stiller, Jennifer Aniston, and Alec Baldwin. Definitely on the lower end of all these actor's careers

When you think of Owen Wilson, you might not immediately think "action hero" but he plays the hell out of one in Behind Enemy Lines (2001) A man with the odds stacked against him is helped by Gene Hackman! Great war film and overall intense movie! 

In my case The Bodyguard (1992) is one of those films you sit down and watch with your mom and know very little as to what is going on, and the older I got the more I could appreciate this Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner classic! AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE this movie!

We don't cover many super hero movies here at I Finally Watched... However, we feel like Blade (1998) is an exception. A revolutionary film for its time, fans of the hero will be glad to know we gave it a good rating with minor issues in plot, CGI effects, and villain, but other than those things it was a butt-load of fun!
