Homily Rewind from St. Margaret Mary Church

Deacon Nemsy tells us Jesus is the Bread of Life, and when we receive Jesus in the Eucharist we must let that love of Jesus we received multiply. We then need to go out and share that love with others.

Money is not wealth. Fr. Shenoy tells us just because you have money that does not mean you are rich. Hope, love, dignity, and character truly make a person rich.

Fr. Walsh tells us that we need to feel empowered to share the Gospel of Jesus. He says, in order to do so, we need to answer the call to give our time and talent in addition to our treasure. If you feel called to make a difference please consider donating your time with service at Mass.

As we celebrate Independence Day, we're reminded that true freedom is the ability to choose the good.

Do not be afraid just have faith. Deacon Tommy tells us that we are all called to have faith in the face of adversity and that if we do so we are able to share the richness of Christ.

Fear is useless, all that is needed is trust. Deacon Nemsy tells us that God is always here to listen to us and assist us every time we ask. If we trust and love God, He is always there for us.

Who is this that even the winds and the seas obey Him? Fr. Walsh tells us that Jesus was not fully known by His disciples when He preformed the miracle of calming of the storm. Fr. Walsh tells us we need to know the Lord in our hearts, in order to do so we need to spend time in reflection and Adoration.

Do we always get the full view? Fr. Shenoy tells us the parables of Jesus gives us just a glimpse of the Kingdom of God. He then makes an appeal for the Missionaries of Compassion, for which he is member. He says to please give and be apart of the good soil that can help so many.

Deacon Tommy talks about birthdays! Happy birthday Fr. Walsh and happy birthday to the Church. Pentecost is the birthday of the church, and he tells us it is the Holy Spirit that brings the gifts. Pentecost is the when we are blessed with the 7 gifts of the Spirit and are all encouraged to go out and spread the good news of the Resurrection of Jesus.

On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, Deacon Dave tells us that the Trinity is three parts, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All three of these parts are intimately intertwined with each other. When we embrace the Trinity, in all of its forms, the result is love.

On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, Deacon Tommy tells us that God is love and when we believe in the Trinity we receive that love. Our goal should be to share that love with one another and all those that we encounter.

Happy birthday to the Church! Fr. Walsh tells us that Pentecost is the coming of the the Holy Spirit on the Apostles. He encourages us to focus on two words “witness” and “proclaim.” He encourages us to encourage those close to us to return to Mass and come back to our faith community.

After Jesus ascended to the Father the disciples "went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs." All of us are called as disciples to boldly proclaim the Gospel, while remaining rooted in prayer, surrounded by community, and convicted that Jesus is still present to us.

Fr. Shenoy talks to us on Mother's Day about mothers. The sacrificial love of Jesus is well represented by a mother's love. He wishes all the mothers a very happy Mother's Day!

Deacon Nemsy says that correction is pruning and in order to grow we need guidance. He goes on to tells us, we need to cling to Jesus in order to live in Him and to bear fruit in our lives

Jesus tells us, I am the vine and we are the branches, Fr. Walsh talks about our previous year, with the pandemic, and calls it a “pruning year”. He challenges us to reflect on everything that has happened this past year, and take this opportunity to grow in our faith.

Is my faith strong enough to defend the existence of God? Deacon Bill asks us if we are will to stand up for our faith in Jesus in the same way we would stand up for those we love the most.

Sheep know their shepherd just as the shepherd knows his sheep. Fr. Walsh tells us, on Good Shepherd Sunday, that Jesus knows us and He loves us and we need to love Him in return.

Hallelujah! Everything is in the breaking of the bread. Deacon Tommy tells us that we need to focus on the Eucharist in order to find Jesus in our lives, and to remember that all are welcome at the Eucharistic table of the Lord.

Fr. Adam talks about his trip to Haiti. Through this, he challenges us to experience Christ through all of our senses. We need to experience all that is around us at Mass in order to proclaim the Resurrection to the world.

Fr. Walsh tells us that we are all called to share the message of the risen Christ to others. He says, all we need to share Christ is to believe in Christ, he encourages all of us to reach out and invite people back to Church and to rejoin our community.

Divine Mercy Sunday is about being and seeing. Bishop Noonan preaches about the importance of not hiding from God because of fear. He says we need to let Christ into our lives despite our sinfulness and He will bring the mercy and peace we are seeking.
