Hometown Heroes features Bill Matteson, founder of Chautauqua County’s “CopeFoundation19”, dedicated to assisting children whose parents have died of opioid overdoses. Matteson’s adult son died four years ago this week, leaving behind three children.

This week’s Hometown Heroes features Bob Lecher of Painted Post NY, a facilitator with The Fatherhood Connection – a statewide organization dedicated to helping men find identity and purpose in being fathers.

Pastor Eric Johns with the Buffalo Dream Center lives homeless for a week in Buffalo each year at Thanksgiving.

This week’s Hometown Hero is Theo Braddy of Lower Paxton Township, PA. He’s a quadriplegic since a football accident at age 15, a long-time advocate for the disabled in central Pennsylvania, and newly-appointed to the president’s National Council on Disability.

Today’s Hometown Hero is youth pastor Tim Swan of Binghamton’s East Side Learning Center. It’s an afterschool program run by Grace Baptist Church – bringing fun – and the gospel – to kids on the city’s east side.

This edition of Hometown Heroes features Carissa Penman-Moyer and her daughter, Isabelle, speaking about their family’s involvement in the Great Cycle Challenge, raising money for research into ending childhood cancer, and putting biblical principles into action in the process.

This week’s Hometown Hero is Kim Reynolds. She heads up the Resurrection Life Food Pantry in Cheektowaga, New York.

This week’s Hometown Hero is a couple who runs Williamsport Bicycle Recycle in Williamsport, P.A. It’s a bike shop that gives back to the community by making bicycles and cycling more accessible.

This weeks’ Hometown Hero is Casey Jones of Belmont, NY.  His group, “Alleghany Hope” is helping build stronger communities by connecting people in need with government and church-based services

This week’s Hometown Hero is Eileen Chapman of Bloomsburg, Pa.  Her not-for-profit is meeting needs by filling gaps the government can’t reach.
