John wants us to have the assurance of our salvation. He also wants us to understand that Real faith is based on belief (truth) and love which produces a life of obedience and victory.

John wants us to realize that love originates from God. God set the example and gives us the power to love in the same way. He demands that if we are going to call ourselves believers, we show love to those around us.

John writes to encourage us to be careful as believers. He wants us to follow God and not be lead astray by the error of the enemy. Learn to practice discernment and be able to spot the counterfeit teachings that come in our culture.

Since our Pastor was out of town, 2 of our church Board members spoke for the service. Lael Steinhoff preached from Luke 16:19-31 (the Rich man and Lazarus) and Chris Hanner spoke from Psalm 27:14

We spent the first part of the service talking about our future and what God is currently doing within our church family. We normally do not post these meetings, but inclement weather kept about half of our church family away. We are posting this to help keep our entire church family updated on what God is doing.

John reminds us that a life of Fellowship is a life of confidence and assurance. This is produced when we obey and please God on a daily basis. It is the result of a life that is genuinely abiding in Christ.

John reminds us that Satan is at work to get us to question our faith and our desire to follow God. It is important that we examine our lives before God, and assure our hearts before God. John wants each of us to be assured that we are people of "the truth".

John encourages us to look at how we see the world. We should not love just with our words, but with our life. A true believer does not harbor hatred in his heart because his heart is filled with the Love of God and there is no room for hatred.

A believers life is marked by righteousness. Sin does not characterize his life. As a believer he seeks to follow the "righteous one". "That one" came to destroy the works of the devil and the power of sin. If we are genuinely born of God, our lives will resemble Christ because we will take on the characteristics of our father who adopted us into his family.

John writes so we can know we are believers. He encourages us to look at how we view sin and our beliefs and practices regarding sin in our lives. May each of us abide in Christ and following His leading for our lives this week.

John challenges us to live as Children of God. We are His children now and our righteous and loving Father loves us and desires only the best for His Children. Let us live in the hope and confidence of a Father who loves and cares for us.

John wants us to experience the voice and leading of God. He encourages us to stick close to Christ and abide and remain in Him through everything. Should He come this week or call you home into His presence, may you stand confident that your life has been about stuff that matters.

John reminds us to be willing to challenge the lies that Satan uses in our life. Acknowledge the fact that he is constantly lying to you. The way to know error is to surround yourself with the truths and teachings of God's Word. Walk in obedience and trust to experience not just life, but life that is eternal.

John wants you to recognize those among us that are against Christ. He challenges us to stay faithful and acknowledge the anointing that we possess. Allow God to use you this week for His purposes and plans.

Matthew 2: 13-23 - Matthew reminds us that God can change and use is no matter what our past. God will make a way in the most difficult of circumstances. I trust you can call him your God and your SAVIOR. Note: December 29th is a testimony service that will not be recorded.

The Christmas story reminds us of the importance of responding to God when he directs and leads us. The result of obedience is that God provides and knows what is best. His timing and ways are not ours. Trust and follow Him wholeheartedly this week.

John challenges us to examine our real love. We cannot love the world's system and claim to love God. They are mutually exclusive. Invest your life and legacy in things that have an eternal value, instead of investing in things that will pass away one day.

John challenges to grow into the people God wants us to be. God's ultimate goal is for us to act as fathers guiding and directing believers into a healthy relationship and fellowship with God so that they may impact others. That is what genuinely spirituality looks like.

John challenges us to love as Christ loved. That means that we cannot harbor hatred, bitterness or anger in our heart toward anyone. Christ set the example of what it means to love even our enemies and we are challenged this week to do the same.

John challenges us to have the assurance of our relationship with our heavenly father. May you walk in fellowship and allow Him to work through you in what He desires to accomplish this week.

John reminds us that in order to genuinely walk with God, we must be honest about our sin and the things that are hindering our growth as a believer. Christ stands on our behalf doing everything to make give us a real genuine relationship with the father. May we confess and deal with the things that are hurting that fellowship.

Fellowship is essential to our relationship with Christ. We must make sure that we are walking in the light that God provides through His Word and others. As we deal with our own lives, we are better equipped to be light in a very dark world.

Real Christianity is sourced in a personal relationship with a living Christ. It involves fellowship with God and His people. It can and will produce a mature joy in your life in this world.

Jeremiah 46-52 = God may be asking something difficult from you. Be obedient. God will be patient with each of us, but He has drawn a line. Allow Him to use you and stay faithful no matter what the cost.

Jeremiah 40 - 45 = God wants His children to be people of discernment. Test and try things to see whether they are from God or satan. Decide now - you will honor God no matter what the world or the culture says. In the end, God will honor that. If you choose to ignore God, you do so to your own peril.
