Happy Thanksgiving! I think that God loves so many things that you do and is often very grateful to you. This episode includes some recent activites from our campus ministry and, while we consider all we are grateful for, why God is grateful to you, too. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

I wanted to share some ideas and reflections from Pope Leo XIV's first Apostolic Exhortation  Dilexi te  on love for the poor. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

The Jubilee Year of Hope continues marching on and so I wanted to share a little bit about the history of jubilee years in the Catholic Church and some concrete expressions of hope in the world today (based on recent words of Pope Leo XIV) and in our daily lives. In the first week of his pontificate, Leo XIV gave a number of public discourses (which have all been awesome BTW). We have a Pope! The unexpected has happened. An American has been chosen as the successor of Peter. I thought I would share about my experience of white smoke day and a brief thought on one of his first speeches. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

My family lost someone dear to us recently and so I wanted to share this reflection with you about why I believe Jesus was there waiting for her. Jesus is the way: if we stay close to Him we are on the right path. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

It's been a minute! With so much to talk about I decided to discuss our spring break mission trip, praying for the Holy Father as he continues in the hospital, a check-in on Lent days we can make exceptions for our sacrifices, as well as a few other recent and upcoming activities. St. Ignatius of Loyola left us an incredible inheritance: his Spiritual Exercises. You may have heard of it. Listen if you want to know a little more about Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. Welcome back! Merry Christmas. Happy new year. This episode is a little update on recent activities as well as a reflection on how the Lord is always present and moving in our lives. Sometimes we are aware of that, and sometimes not so much. But it is always the case. Hopefully these reflections will be enlightening as we bring in 2025. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

The semester has drawn to a close. I reflect a little bit on that, prayer, some significant personal dates in the calendar, Mary, and even the Mary movie on Netflix, before concluding with a beautiful reflection on Mary from St. Anselm. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

I read a book a little while back called "Lord of the World" by Robert Hugh Benson. It is a fiction novel from over 100 years ago yet which I found to still be surprisingly relevant today. I really enjoyed it. Much more could be said but these are at least some first impressions and reflections. Holiness is cool! ¡La santidad es cool!

Advent starts tomorrow! Here are some thoughts on Advent preparation for Christmas. I will chime in on the Christmas decorations and music debate, opine on Jesus t-shirts, and suggest some ways to make this Advent season fruitful as preparation for celebrating what is the favorite feast day of many: Christmas!
