The SouthBank check in. 03.03.2025

Considering I haven't been on top of the podcasting for 2025, I have been concentrating on my work, the Dread House and my exhibiton. Now, I have managed to get out and about for a brief walk to increase my portfolio. It was a nice late winter walk across the Southbank recording a soundscape and enjoying the first of the warm sun of 2025. #walks #London #Winter #raspberrypi #tascam Recorded on a T...

HnP Suplimental 01.12.2024

This is a short addition to the series, I am walking through the Chase side woodland walk. A name that escapes me on a number of times. I am walking through the dark, in a wooded and secluded area. The walk is in total 7 miles and brings me back into north Enfield. Thank you for joining me. I have a number of late autumnal walks leading up to the winter Solstice. For live events, please visit the...

Back in the Land of the End 08.05.2024

Dr Syntaxes head as I have discovered in recent years, is the furthest west you can stand in England. So for the third time this year, I headed west to walk to it. It was a last minute trip and I am grateful for the opportunity to spend so much time visiting my favourite place on Earth. It won't be the last for this year.

To the last corner of the kingdom (part two) 23.03.2024

Here is the second and last part of the winter Cornish adventure. This section was the most quietest and fun to be fair. I found the beach 'Song of the sea' and little beach with a hole in a huge rock where I fell over. I was rewarded with seeing a Seal floating in the sea and they kept looking at me. Land's end was a wonderful sight with a dramatic skyline and winds that changed my ha...

To the last corner of the kingdom (part one) 15.03.2024

I finally managed to make my way back to west Cornwall after an absence of 7 weeks and walk from Penzance to Land's end. The south west coast path was mostly mud at this point and during I had to ask myself if it was wise. I did really enjoy it. I was going to walk the next leg to St Ives, but due to the wind and the rain, I thought better of it. The walk took roughly 7 hours and was about 18...

The Pilgrimage 09.03.2024

In preparation for the next episode, I needed to walk some miles. St Albans is a beautiful city, so from my front door, I walked there. It rained, I got soaked, I am clearly shouting to get my voice over the road noise, I spent most of the hike besides roads, busy ones at that. The pay off was worth it, the journey home via home counties public transport was both easy and cheap. Not sure I would r...

hikenpod Montana Episode 3 04.03.2024

Hello again from Montana, everyone! I finally got my butt out the door and onto the trail. The Swamp Dawg, Molly and myself got out on the southwest side of the Bridger Mountains in Bozeman/Belgrade Montana and went up Truman Gulch. Location information:  https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/custergallatin/recarea/?recid=81168   Photos:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZESNiYpPzYoAfx7QA We have had such litt...

The 11th Hour 25.02.2024

Join me as walk along a cold and wet Southend seafront as I just about make the deadline for this week's podcast. The walk was fun and quiet and recorder raised the volume of the traffic but there was hardly anyone around, a real treat. Recorded on the Tascamm DR-40x, edited on Reaper Audio on the Rasberry pi 5 using Ubuntu 23, monitored on Audio Technica headphones.

No hike n just pod episode 18.02.2024

Listen in where I contradict myself on every sentence. So no podcast on the hike this week, a hike with no audio and me explaining why. I am getting ready for the next big hike in two weeks. So all the hikes until then will be local and covering old ground (pardon the pun). This is a lovely walk if you have time to do it and the pay off is exciting. Record on the Tascam DR- 40x edited on Reaper us...

Around Mersea Island... this time all the way round! 08.02.2024

This is my second trip in fours years to Mersea island in Essex, it is roughly 22km all the way round. It took me four hours to complete with only a couple of minor muddy areas and this winter time. I drove for an hour and 15 to get there and the weather was fresh but clear. The island was quite quiet but I did manage to speak to one person who was walking her dog along the beach. I am considering...
