People praying together is throughout the Scripture and yet we tend to neglect it today. Maybe it's because we are intimidated, nervous, or just being a bit lazy. We, as a church, are endeavoring to be a church of prayer!

How is your prayer life? Prayer is simpler than we often make it and at the same time, it is so profound that we shouldn’t live without it. This week, we consider how we can pray and things that often hinder our praying.

Having a lifestyle of communing with Jesus looks a lot like farming. It all boils down to abiding in Christ, sowing into the Spirit, and reaping a harvest of His fruit in our life.

The last Sunday of the year is a time of year when we have tons of questions. Questions about the last year, the next year, and everything in between. What questions should we be asking as we approach a new year?

From the beginning of time, God's heart was intimacy with His people. We see this in Exodus chapters 19, 20, and 33. And since Israel's life is a mirrored image of ours, we can also make a decision to pursue intimacy with our Creator. We were created for life within the tent!

Why did God save us? God saved us to reflect His image into the broken world we inhabit. The church embraces this mission by doing His work, embracing generosity, and receiving supernatural gifting by His Spirit.

God’s word is the path to life. If you deny the value of His ways, you will rob yourself of life to the full. But if you make your faith all about His rules, you will fail to walk in a covenant of grace. Our hope, is to approach His commands from a position of love which leads our hearts into genuine transformation.

After Israel’s dramatic rescue, they begin their journey into the wilderness. In the wilderness: they whine, they look back to Egypt, and they are continually invited to trust God every day.

Passover and the parting of the Red Sea reminds us that God has saved us when we are helpless to save ourselves. Baptism and communion are gifts to the church to commemorate this amazing salvation. This week, let our thanksgiving be rooted in what Christ has done to rescue us and defeat our enemy.

False gods and idols are still in our lives today. And God will show his power by tearing them down. What part of your life do need God to show up and bring down an idol in?

Pharaoh’s hard heart ultimately led to His destruction. As God initiates a relationship with His chosen people, our responsibility is to respond to His kindness and love and not let our hearts grow hard. We can trust in our relationship with God and the mission He has for us as we respond to His election.

Even In the midst of fierce persecution and dramatic oppression, God’s redemptive work is always moving forward and we are part of that work. Don’t wait for redemption- bring redemption. Take heart, because even in the midst of life’s hardship- if you look for it- His kindness is present in the midst of our darkest moments.

Today we embarked on our series through Exodus. Understanding this story of God’s promises, power and presence is key in understanding our story of captivity and freedom.

Faith stirs us to hope in the future, act in the present, and consider the generational story of Scripture.
