Growing and Witnessing

Joseph is one of the first Old Testament stories we learn after being introduced to the Christian faith. He is forerunner of Jesus and reveals some of the great themes of the Gospels. In this first message, we talk about his faith, his commitment to his family, and his desire to return home to the land of God's provision.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth. Join us as we think through what this affirmation means.

Jesus told his disciples that they needed to die to themselves in order to follow him and be a part of his kingdom. Why is this self-denial so important? Paul tells us that it's important because without it we cannot live in Christ eternally.

During our Easter morning worship, we discussed the fact that Jesus's command to Peter (and all of his disciples) was the same after his resurrection as it was when he called them to be his disciples initially. He said, "Follow Me." The resurrection makes it possible for us to follow Jesus. Without its power, we would never be able to properly follow Jesus as his disciples.

During our Maundy Thursday service we meditated on what it means to obey the commands of Christ through the power of his Spirit from the last part of John's gospel.

Did Jesus know who he was? Absolutely. He knew exactly who he was and the reason why he came. He also knew the mission he would give his people after he ascended into heaven. There is no sense is trying to change these two realities.

How does Satan work on this earth, in the world we live in? Through the two beasts of Revelation 13. In this version of the Wednesday Bible Study we think specifically about the beast of the sea and what his presence means for us.
