God’s love is like a light in darkness. “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3).

When we organize our gifts, we serve God better. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. . . . There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord” (1 Corinthians 12:4, 5).

God gives us gifts so we can help others. “Serve whole-heartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people” (Ephesians 6:7).

God gives us skills to serve Him. “I will pour out my Spirit on all people” (Acts 2:17).

Prayer prepares us for service. “They all joined together constantly in prayer” (Acts 1:14).

Jesus’ friends know Him well. “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

We worship God when we follow His instructions. “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.”(John 14:23).

We worship God when we choose to obey Him. “Love the Lord your God and . . . serve him with all your heart”(Deuteronomy 11:13).

We worship God when we have faith in Him. “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22).

We worship God when we enjoy keeping the Sabbath. “If you call the Sabbath a delight . . .you will find your joy in the Lord” (Isaiah 58:13, 14).

God’s people rejoice because He cares for them. “I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life” (Genesis 9:15).

People in God’s family wait patiently together for Him. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”(Galatians 6:9).

People in God’s family work together. “Work together as a team for the faith” (Philippians 1:27, ICB).

People in God’s family want to do His will. “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God” (Psalm 143:10).

We serve God when we take care of others. “Again Jesus said,. . . ‘Do you love me?. . . Take care of my sheep’ ” (John 21:16).

We serve God when we tell others that Jesus is risen. “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation’ ”(Mark 16:15).

We serve God when we share His love with others. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

We can help others carry their burdens. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).

We show God’s love when we serve others. “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet” (John 13:14).

I show others Jesus’ love when I put wrongs right. “Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor”(Luke 19:8).

Children like me are welcome in God’s family. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these”(Luke 18:16).

God invites everyone to join His family. “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Matthew 9:13).

I help others learn about Jesus when I follow His example. “Come, follow me, . . . and I will send you out to fish for people ” (Matthew 4:19).

We praise God for supplying our needs. “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink” (John 7:37).

We praise God for rescuing us from sin. “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them” (Psalm 34:7).
