Today, we continue our tour of what it means to live wisely. King David is our guide and teacher. David is old and looking back on life as he writes this chapter’s words, filled with insight, perspective, and warning. We are glad you are with us today.

Why is it that we often think of people who really lived, but don’t consider Jesus as the first? The problem comes from our own perspective on what living life to the full really means. As we celebrate the planting of Doxa Church, we will consider how this event is reflective of what life is all about.

Every day we make decisions that shape our future. Our choices today will determine the kind of life that awaits us tomorrow. Today, we consider what David says about how our destination is built on our decisions so we can live God-centered, Christ-exalting, and joy-filled lives.

Life is hard. We see people getting away with hurtful things and it seems like justice is becoming a hope-stealing mirage. Today, you will see a new side of God, the side of God as the avenger of His children. So when we are wronged, we still love as Christ commands AND we know that God is on our side and He will Avenge us.

Being at peace can sometimes seem impossible with all the pressures of life. Today, we will explore wisdom from the Lord filtered through the life of David to learn how to cultivate peace when life seems out of control.

Today we begin a new series in which we will learn from a much older and wiser man who wants to shape our journey through life. The man lived some 3000 years ago, but it would be virtually impossible to find a better guide on how to live a God-centered life.

We tend to think of burdens as things that keep us from fulfillment. But, could it be possible to carry a burden that actually makes it possible for us to do the very thing we were made to do? Today we will look to see what Jesus says about burden bearing and how what we carry may be far more important than we realize.

It is almost predictable: a Christian is sharing the reality of sin and the need for a Savior and soon hears: “Didn’t Jesus say not to judge others? Why are YOU judging me?” Is this true? How would you respond? Today, we will find out.

Paul’s letter to the Colossians serves as the backdrop for our study today of the two most common religious extremes and how they undermine the hope we have in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
