Concluding our message series - Gospel Shaped Living - "How to be the Church in the World". Looking at Galatians 5:16-6:3 we consider why there is such a gap between God's desires for us and the reality in our lives. Flesh vs. Spirit!

Suffering is inevitable. Various worldviews have different ways to explain and cope with suffering. We will look at the CROSS of Jesus Christ and see not only how to suffer well but also how the CROSS crushes and destroys all the other worldviews. Especially, our secular worldview of hopelessness.

Gospel Shaped Living - is about being saved by God's gospel of grace and then being shaped by it so we can effectively share it with others as God's unique community (humanity) in earth. Today, contrast the greatness and mission of the world with the Kingdom of God. Wow. What a contrast!

Truth is not a battle we win merely by making a better argument. It is a battle we win by living a better life - a life of love! Biblical community is the final apologetic for a lost and skeptical world. Let KNOW the truth, so, we can LIVE the truth, so we can share THE TRUTH in love.

The first church shows us how to be an unavoidably generous people. (Luke 26:41-47) As God's eternally elected and personally selected new humanity, we show the world what it looks like to know God. What the best version of humanity looks like through love and obedience to Jesus. It is about living a life of irrational generosity!

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light! 1 Peter 2:9 God has eternally elected and personally selected a unique people for the purpose proclaiming God's grace to a lost and dying world that is in darkness.

Jesus, concludes his 17 minute message with some powerful warnings and assessments. One is to watch out for those "teachers" who do not advocate Jesus' narrow gate and hard way to life teachings.

What is true salvation according to Jesus? Enter the narrow gate (Jesus) by repentance and faith (Justification) and follow Him in loving obedience (Sanctification)along the narrow path to life (Glorification).
