Revelation 13 // Revelation 13 does not invite us to decipher a timetable of doom. It invites us to see what already is—the contest between the Lamb who reigns through self-giving love and the beasts who rule through domination and deceit.

Revelation 12 // The drama of redemptive history is in full display in this text, as the woman in the wilderness goes up against the danger of the dragon. What we find is a decisive victory for the lamb and the people of God, and an exposure of Satan's futility and foolishness.

Revelation 4 //  The vision of Revelation 4 lifts our eyes to the throne standing at the center of all reality, and to the one seated there reigning in glory and power. The throne of God centers all of our hope and calls forth ceaseless worship. 

Revelation 2-3 // The church is the vessel that will take us to apocalyptic glory, Defined by Christ’s Character, Purified by Christ’s Word; and Sustained by Christ’s Promises.

Revelation 1 // Why read Revelation now? Because we aim to be formed into the image of Jesus Christ the Son. Because a vision, a Revelation, an unveiling, of his glory and work, is exactly what we need. We read Revelation for the sake of courage, to be bold and relentless in the face of evil. We read Revelation to remind ourselves in confidence that in the end, Jesus wins.

3 John // In Christ we who were strangers have been welcomed into the family of God. Hospitality is the truth of gospel made visible, and as those who have been welcomed in it is ours to extend to others that those who are strangers to us now may one day soon be our brothers and sisters.

2 Timothy 2:20-21 // The honor that we show to and receive from each other will be genuine and real when we are committed together to pursue a life of holiness, cleansed by the grace of God in Christ.

Acts 5:1-11 // A healthy church culture starts not with the modeling of behavior but the heart of honesty, ready to give everything to God.

Psalm 127: 3-5 // Children are gifts entrusted to us by the Lord. The stewardship of parents and of the church is to see our children formed into mature disciples of Jesus Christ, and released into the mission of God in the world. We are striving by the grace of God to see our children live for what matters most and lasts longest.

2 Samuel 6:1-23 // There are two kinds of biblical discipline: 1) Discipline that follows disobedience; 2) Discipline in pursuit of faithfulness . When one increases the other decreases, and vice versa . Discipline that leads to faithfulness results in great joy, both for our lives with Christ and for our parenting.

Devotion to God begins with wondering at God, and wondering of God begins with a commitment by the church to not hide the mystery of the faith from the next generation, but tell of the mighty works of God in the gospel.

Ecclesiastes 12:1-12:14 // The end is coming, whether we would like it to or not. But as the wisdom of Ecclesiastes closes, we learn to embrace the end and strive for holiness. God’s coming judgment of the world is Good News, because of two reasons: 1) in the end, God will expose all the frauds; and 2) in the end, God will remember your obedience.

Ecclesiastes 11:1-11:10 // In Ecclesiastes 11, the Preacher reminds us that life’s uncertainty should not leave us paralyzed and ineffective. Rather, in the face of uncertainty, we are drawn to trust and obey the God who created us and protects us.

Ecclesiastes 9:13-10:20 // In this text, the Preacher highlights the absurdity of foolishness. Over and against foolish power, profit, poise, and pleasures, we seek after a heart of wisdom not by learning principles of wisdom, but by cherishing Christ our wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 9:1-12 // The absurdity of enjoyment is that the path towards true enjoyment and fake enjoyment both start in the same place: confronting the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life. Only once we stare death in the face can we embrace the certainty of Jesus who offers us an abundance of life in the present. Ecclesiastes 7:23-8:17 // What do we do with life’s biggest mysteries and questions? Often, we try to explain them, control them, and correct them. But only in Jesus can we be free of the responsibility to know everything, have everything, and do everything. In him we see why we can be okay with the reality that God is God and we are not.

Ecclesiastes 7:1-22 //  There is only one way into a wise life in a crooked world - through Jesus Christ, the wisdom of God. In Jesus we are free from having to straighten out the world and even our own lives, and in Christ we gain new and gospel-centered perspectives that empower us to live wisely.

Ecclesiastes 5:8-6:12 // The absurdity of money is that it’s like sand running through our fingers. It tricks us into thinking it provides stability, pleasure, power, happiness, and peace. But what it promises is just out of reach. In this sermon we examine the consequences of the pursuit of money, and the secret to true enjoyment and true wealth.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 // We must all reckon with the absurdity of time and the eternality of God. Our freedom to change time from an enemy to an ally happens when we embrace our finitude and by faith learn to enjoy each moment as God's great gift in Christ.
