Is mankind unique or are we just another type of animal? What does the Bible say about how God created mankind? The answer to these questions are found in Genesis 1 and it tells us what human beings are worth, how the world should operate and what God’s purpose is for humanity. 

What can we learn from God’s creation of the sea creatures and birds? Many think that these creatures evolved from a common ancestor, but the Bible says they all had a common designer. Which is it and what does it mean for humanity?

Why did God wait to create the sun, moon and stars until day 4? How exactly did this work? Many have been puzzled by such a fact and some have even tried to use it as evidence against God creating everything. But we can learn much from carefully studying what God made and why when He undertook to make the sun, moon and stars.

Once God had created the universe and the world on the first day, He then began to form the earth into what it was intended to be. This included separating water and land from one another and specially creating plant life. As we hear what he made on the 2nd and 3rd days, there is much to learn from it that should cause us both to praise Him and to prepare ourselves for what He also says is coming...

What else does God tell us about how and what He created on the first day? He tells us of light and the distinctions He makes between light and darkness, day and night. But He also tells us much more - including about Jesus. In this passage we consider creation, what it tells us of Jesus and our need for Him as well as what it begins to say about the relationship between science and the Bible.

This morning we are reminded that the life of being a follower of Jesus is not one of comfort and ease but one of suffering with a hope of glory in the future.

Is the book of Genesis historical or something else? This is an important question to consider. And when the internal evidence is considered, the answer is clear. But once the reader understands what genre of literature Genesis is, then they must come to understand how God created the world and what that means for humanity today.

What does Genesis 1:1 tell us about God, the world, and us? The answer: much more than we might think. As we consider this first book and first verse of the Bible, we discover that Genesis is absolutely foundational in order to understand the rest of God’s Word and in order to develop a consistent Christian Worldview.

Are you living a life in accordance with God's will? Are you living a life of worship? This morning we are looking at the example of Gaius and consider whether we walk in truth in Jesus and what visitors think of Grace CCC.

Jesus tells us not to store our treasures on earth, where they will be stolen or destroyed, and instead store them in heaven. But what do treasures in heaven look like? And how do we store them there? Knowing the answers to these questions will give us motivation and guiding principles for how we use our wealth and possessions.

Does the Bible have anything to say about retirement? If we are going to serve God with longevity, then we must consider our retirement years. God has much to say on the subject, but we should be aware that God’s Word also contradicts many modern notions about retirement. Let us reform our understanding of this final stage of our lives on earth according to God’s clear Word.

How do we rest? Can we take time off and truly be rested? Many people are overworked and under-rested, but how can this be fixed? God’s Word gives clear answers to these questions from Jesus Himself.

For a Christian to serve God consistently, they must understand and practice what God says about finances. Specifically, Christians are to run from debt consistently and work to provide diligently so that they can give generously.

How should a Christian view money and possessions? Many individuals might be surprised to learn that there are more than 2,300 verses in the Bible speaking to this very issue. God has much to say about such matters. Above all, we must understand that He owns everything and that we are his managers or stewards. The question is: “Are we stewarding/managing His resources well?"

How is a Christian supposed to live life on this earth knowing that they will live forever with God one day? If our time on earth is so brief, then what should we focus on in the time God gives us here? Paul answers that very question by showing Christians how they can set their minds and hearts on things above and by this means they can do the most earthly good.

Even though we may be trying to live for God and serve at church, we sometimes feel as if it is not really accomplishing anything. That is how the Jewish people felt after returning to Jerusalem from exile. But God evaluates the situation differently. And what He tells them has much benefit for us...
