As wonderful as the gospel is, there are elements of it that are hard to hear and hard to accept. Paul did not let that deter him from preaching it all. Called men of God still need to preach it all!

We say God is good; but when do most people make this proclamation? Is He really good all the time? Our answer is determined by our maturity. Is God really as good as we claim He is?

To be naked, in front of others, is an uncomfortable thought. Imagine standing before God, spiritually naked. This should be a frightening thought. When we stand before the Lord, we will not be able to hide anything. He will see us as we are. Who we really are will be exposed.

Paul was disgusted by the antics of the Corinthian believers, so much so that he was thankful he had not baptized many of them. Often, the same problem that plagued the church in Corinth also plagues churches today. It's for this reason that many "Christians" are an embarrassment.

The writer of Hebrews explains to fellow Jews that for the people of God, there is a land of eternal rest awaiting them...if they believe. This truth is both wonderful and encouraging. Rest...eternal rest is something every child of God can look forward to.

As you consider the testimony of the writer of these verses, you can't help but notice what appears to be a change in the hearts and minds of God's people. While things seem to have changed for so many, the question we should be willing to ask, is: "Have things changed for us?".

Seldom will you read, in scripture, of a need for fear. However, there are times it is appropriate. Tonight's message reminds of one of those times. Church members should give this passage serious consideration.

Without doubt, music is powerful. Because of this, the wording of this Psalm is not only interesting, but powerful. We all look to "songs" during the course of our lives. We should consider what our song is.

Sin has the ability to blind people of reality. So much so, that people can convince themselves they are saved, when they are not. According to the writer of Hebrews, each person needs to "take heed" and give serious consideration to such a thought.

The Christian has been equipped to live the Christian life. If we do not live it, it's because we have chosen not to. How are you living, and how will you die?

As a Christian, the Corinthians were called to be saints. While not optional, they made the choice to return to their old ways of living. Many in modern day "Christianity" have chosen to do the same thing. Such an approach to living is neither biblical or Christian.

Souls are dying and entering eternity. What is our response? Consider the thoughts of today's message and consider whether or not anything should change in your life in relation to the lost around us.

It's sad to consider the number of folks who are rich in the things of this world, but are poor in those things pertaining to God. For the one who seeks to acquire more and more of this world, God views them as a fool. A tough truth to consider, but one that should shape our outlook on life.

From time to time, we run into critics who mock the goodness of God and our desire to serve Him. It's in those times that we desperately want to silence the critics. In order to be do so, something must be true of us. That something is...

Salvation has become 'so easy', that almost nothing expected of a persons testimony so long as they "prayed the sinners" prayer. Tonight's message reminds us that how a person ends their life should give us reason to have confidence in a persons salvation or to doubt. It's something every Christian needs to consider.

It's amazing how selfishness creates drama. Even the godliest of people can do this toward God and others. Consider the truths of tonight's message and see how often our selfishness creates unnecessary drama.

The writer admits of a struggle more of us can relate to than we care to admit. He wanted more and was tempted to violate God's word to obtain it. How often do we find ourselves in a similar position? Convicting!

The Jews held Moses in high regard (and rightfully so). However, the writer reminds these Jews that their focus and attention must stay focused on Christ. How often do people play their focus on a man, rather than God.

There's seldom a perfect opportunity to do what needs to get done. There will always be a distractions. The question is: Will we give attention to the distractions are do what needs to be done?

The heaviness of life has a way of weakening the strongest of souls. In those moments, the word of God is able to strengthen and establish those who look to him. What a wonderful truth.

In the midst of hard and difficult days, it's a blessing to know that God, through Christ, can relate to every struggle we face. Tonight's passage reminds us that God knows what we are dealing with...and he cares.

If a person takes an honest look at our future, we know exactly where we are headed...and why. Listen and consider the simple principles contained in this passage.

For centuries, people have feared death. Tonight's text reminds us that believers have been freed from the bondage of fear that death so often brings.

God's law is wondrous, though difficult to understand, at times. As the writer prays, we to ought to pray: Open thou mine eyes. It's a needed effort on the part of the believer.
