Have you ever stopped to consider what you may be missing out on when you choose to miss out on the assembly of your church? It could be the very thing you need. Consider the truth of this morning's message. It can be a tremendous help.

The Jews were about to hear something that could haunt them if they did not respond to the writers message correctly. Though different in specifics, the principle still remains. Consider these words.

The Corinthians believed they had to win every dispute. That attitude was rooted in selfishness. Consider the simple, yet needed principle of tonight's message.

Peter and John went to the temple at the appointed hour of prayer, as God directed. What happened as a result is incredible...and it's not the lame man being healed.

Without the mediating work of Christ, we have nothing by way of relationship or access to God. This message reminds us of the work Christ continues to do on our behalf and the gratitude we should have for that work.

We tend to want to be "fair" in how we deal with things. However, there are times where the rules are different for different people...even in the world of Christianity. This truth is more needed than most believers recognize today. Listen and consider.

In life, there are certain things we MUST know. The same is true in our spiritual lives. As such, the writer explained something to his fellows Jews that they must know as it related to Christ. Listen and consider.

We tend to want explanations when things go wrong in our lives. Sometimes, no satisfactory explanation can be given.. However, while there may be no explanation for these times, there is an ultimate explanation we must consider.

Nehemiah's work was great because he was obedient to God's call on his life. There is great encouragement to be found in this truth: Our work, regardless of what it is, is great in the sight of God if it is grounded in obedience to His will for our lives. Listen and be encouraged.

When we remember what Jesus was (is), it helps us better appreciate what He did on our behalf. It's always good to be reminded how blessed we are.

Many professed believers are convinced that their words authenticate their relationship with the Lord. Paul makes clear in this passage that words mean nothing. Authenticity of a right relationship with God is found in our actions.

It is bold to tell someone to follow our example. That is what Paul told believers in Corinth to do. The question we should consider, is: "Would we want someone to follow our spiritual example?".

In times of need, it's not uncommon for people to turn to God for help. While that seems to make sense, this passage reminds us that before we go to God in prayer, we need to be able to say this...

What Christ accomplished on the cross of Calvary a little over 2,000 years ago is still in effect today. God's plan of salvation has not changed, therefore, we as believers have no authority to change or alter his work for a generation who seeks "change". Listen and be reminded of an important truth.

As the believers of Corinth continued their debate about the greatest spiritual leaders among them, Paul reminded them that nothing distinguished themselves from the others. All were nothing more than sinners saved by the grace of God. Listen and consider whether or not such foolish pride still exist in other forms.

We associate so many different thoughts, feelings and emotions with so many different things in our lives. Something we should consider, is: what thoughts, feelings, and emotions do we have when we consider the word of God. It's important that the word of God hold a special place in our hearts.

With the work of Christ on the cross, we can draw nigh to God. However, just because this nearness is available, many who claim to be saved are far from God. The choice is ours.

Life can be hard and sometimes we need an extra measure of help. It's good to know that not only is God able to help those who are hurting, He will.

At times, it is difficult to hear that something is superior to another person or thing. While difficult to hear, it is true. The Jews had to hear such a truth as it related to bible doctrine and practice and we need to hear it, as well. Note: Please pardon the moment of fun with one of our church members before the sermon began.

Paul reminds believers that it really wasn't their place to determine who was more and less faithful. Paul was clear that this is the Lord's responsibility. Listen and consider this important truth.

In order to become wise, we must become fools. It really is this simple.

What do we do when we want and need the presence of God to be real and near in our lives? Today's message reminds us of what is necessary. It will work every time.

In light of word we've been given, there is a right and wrong response to that word. What is our response to His word?

It's so easy to address the exterior issues of our lives. It is so much more challenging to address the issues of the heart. This passage reminds us that sin in the heart defiles a person just as much as the sins that all are able to behold.
