This week in Daniel 5, we see King Belshazzar on the throne. And although he was familiar with how his father King Nebuchadnezzar was humbled by God, he did not honour this same God during his reign.

Have you ever been given a warning with a consequence, but did not heed it? King Nebuchadnezzar found himself in this situation where he would not repent of his sins, and his pride caused him to fall. Daniel 4 is the story of King Nebuchadnezzar's second dream and his journey in being humbled by God.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are in trouble. They refuse to bow down and worship the idol set up by King Nebuchadnezzar. He is furious. They're about to be thrown into a burning furnace heated up 7 times more than usual. Yet they utter these words in faith - "..our God whom we serve is able to deliver us..", fully convicted not to worship the idols even if God did NOT deliver them.

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, and he wanted to know what it meant. But not one wise man in his kingdom could tell him what he wanted to know. Except, God could, through his servant Daniel.
