Getting Through This with Tom and Scott

Scott’s getting the jab, as the Brits say, on January 22, and looks forward to swapping fun vaccination stories with the other people on line. Tom isn’t eligible yet in LA, but he looks forward to hanging out with his new pals in Phase 1b/tier2..

Tom and Scott are relieved that the noise Tom’s stomach was making was just friendly conversation, and nothing contagious. Plus, the vaccine is now available for us, but Tom wonders if he’ll meet any Dodgers greats when he goes to Dodger Stadium for his shot.

For those of you planning to time travel to the past, we give you tips on how to put people at ease when your time machine lands in the year 1021.. First, make sure they know you’re not Satan. :

It’s the feel good story of the year, as Tom learns to like the eight giant tubs of Siggis yogurt, in a size and flavor he didn’t order. Scott commends him for shouldering this burden, despite the stinging disappointment every time Tom opens the refrigerator.

Tom’s aversion to mail is tested when he receives a glossy book promoting ultra luxury safaris, featuring adorably cute photos of lions cuddling. Scott respects all mail, and never discards anything in the non-garbage bin in the mailroom.

We once again shine a light on the plight of the ghostwriter, that nameless writer who must struggle to convince his date that he really wrote that book. And we salute the “as told to” writer who gets to hang out with celebrities in addition to getting his name on the cover.

If we did our show during the 1918 pandemic, instead of just recording it on our phone, we would have to deliver 17 wax cylinders to each listener’s home. Plus, since they have the same uniform, who wore it first , the bellhop or the organ grinder monkey?.

Rather than tear out the floors of tall office buildings and replace them with giant indoor cliff climbing gyms., we hope workers fill the buildings again, and that the men wear gray flannel suits, and the women wear pencil skirts and high heels.
