Friendly Bay Fun Day 17.03.2023

Find a fossil, rock painting and a volcano activity at the Friendly Bay Fun Day in Oamaru recently. Children collected marine fossils from limestone that was 25 million years old.  They painted rounded greywacke cobbles that were originally sands off Gondwana around 200 million years ago - before dinosaurs became extinct!

October public talk 21.10.2022

Our October public talk will take place in Duntroon on Thursday 20th October 6 - 7pm.  Come along and learn about Maori Rock Art within the geopark.  

New bench seats and signage 21.10.2022

We are installing new bench seats at four of our geosites - Hutchisons Quarry, All Day Bay, Campbells Bay and the Kakanui River.  Interpretation signage for these geosites will be installed on the back of these bench seats at a later date.  This project has been funded by the Otago Community Trust.
