We recently held a field trip at Elephant Rocks and Anatini to celebrate Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail 10-year anniversary. Learn about what we did - and check out our short video of the day on our facebook page.

We recently hosted a celebration event to announce the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark becoming a UNESCO Global Geopark!

The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark becomes part of the UNESCO Global Geopark network. A first for New Zealand!

The Geopark is home to numerous museums: Waitaki Museum in Oamaru Kurow Museum in Kurow Waihemo Museum in Palmerston Whitestone City in Oamaru Vanished World Centre in Duntroon

This free community event is being held at Oamaru Intermediate School Thursday 4th May 5 - 7pm. Come along and learn about our marine environment - past and present!

Vanished World began with the interest and research of staff and students at Otago University. Today it offers educational insight into the formation of our land and the marine creatures that once lived here.
