From school to work to relationships to kids to finances, life is hard. But then there are those problems that come flying into our lives from out of nowhere and make life all the more overwhelming. Do you feel stuck with nothing left to give? Waiting on God for a miracle? The good news is that God has what we need and prayer is a gift given to us to help us through.

The bad news is that sin means we've all missed the mark. Death is what we deserve. The good news is that God sent Jesus as a remedy, a solution to the problem of sin and death. His death and life means that God offers something better. Trusting Jesus with every part of our lives means that death is defeated and that we are alive in Jesus Christ.

There is an “us vs. them” mentality that has been tearing our world apart for centuries. It allows petty things like politics, economic, social status, age, and even skin color to draw hurtful boundaries between people.  In Acts 11 we find an anonymous group of believers who show us what happens when the Church leads the way in shattering the us vs. them barrier.

In Acts 9 we meet a man named Saul. He was violently opposed to the idea of the resurrection of Jesus and the thought that He could be God’s promised Messiah. All that changed when he met the resurrected Jesus face to face. Just like Saul, we all are dead in our sin, but Jesus came to rescue us from our sins and to give us a new life that can only be found in Him.

God wants everyone to put their faith in Jesus and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, but it’s also God’s desire that you and I will be filled and empowered and directed by the Holy Spirit each day. There's no better way to live.

There are times in our lives when we feel defeated. Often, these can be the times where God can work most powerfully. In Acts 8, what we see in the first church was that its growth really took off when persecution struck and the people were forced to scatter. What looks like defeat is often God's victory in disguise!

Jesus came to serve and He's called us to serve too. We may not think we have anything special to offer, but the truth is that God can do extraordinary things through ordinary people who say YES to Him.

Regardless of circumstances our priority as followers of Jesus is to be obedient to God. If we will remain focused on him we can trust that he will take care of the rest.

As we mature, the things we ask for change. it's true in our lives, and it should be true in our prayers as well. This week, we see the believers in the first church pray for boldness after narrowly escaping the authorities. What could God do in our lives and in our church if we all were willing to pray bold prayers?

You don’t have to go through life alone. Trusting Jesus means receiving a gift that changes everything. He can change your life. He can change the lives of others through you.

Many times in the Old Testament, God's people are commanded to remember and celebrate all that He has done for them and through them. This week, Campus Pastor Jerry Naville takes us on a journey of remembering and celebrating all God did at Genesis Church in 2022!
