I wasn't even sure how much I liked this recording until I touched it up and it got me feelin' real good. We'll be back to Lyra-8 mode soon.

I keep meaning to work other instruments into this setup, but then I accidentally keep making stuff that I don't feel would benefit from more instrumentation. Maybe someone disagrees. They can make their own music. I'm having fun.

I decided to pull out the good mic and the tankdrum and drown percussive sounds in reverb with an excessive delay setup. Good times.

Sophie refused to leave the vicinity of an active microphone. She really adds to the atmosphere of this one. This is me being an absolute jackasshole in a microphone with two loopers in series. Also Sophie. The most important part of the show. At least the concept of this technique is a solid one, even if this execution may leave a bit to be desired.

A four-unit cycle of function generators all triggering each other in a circle(and playing sounds to go with them). Many thanks to Sonic Kitchen for the samples I used in this. The specific samples are some bronze bells and a Bao gong. There are oscillators running in this, but they mostly appear in the form of weird and intermittent noises.

Reverb before VCA (or LPG, in this case) can be lots of fun. Turn your monophonic synth voice into pseudo-chords!

Fun with function generators! I think people wanting to get in to modular synths should probably start their journey with at least two function generators... if I could go back and start over, I would probably want to do that. They're very good for learning about unusual synthesis strategies.

Avantgarde Music Challenge (AMC) 012 - "Rats Live On No Evil Star" Make a composition which sounds the same both when played forward and when played backward. The dwellers of the darkest depths of the ocean have an awful lot to say about modular synths. A lot of people don't know that.

A generative idea based on Todd Barton's approach to the Krell patch. Contour 1 is doing a lot of lifting in this one. Only one "voice" is present, though it uses both of my primary oscillators and is run through two parallel VCFs. SEM filter still owns, by the way.
