To bring our Frosty Frequencies Fundraiser right to the height of pre-Christmas bliss, we take you with us to a midtown Detroit vinyl party and meet some of the holiday revelers. We go to a hockey game in Canada and film a fight. And Resonant Dog brings us a festive chill-house mix.

It includes original recordings of guitar playing and singing at a waterfall in Puerto Vallarta and an interview with a producer in Guadalajara who recently went to Canada, where he made a bunch of music.

I bumped into Mistah English on my way from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles. Randomly, I ended up meeting a rare breed of surf celebrity in Pismo Beach—surfing goats. And we chat with rabbi on Torrance Beach. Then, Max Newman returns with his second-ever guestmix for the Frequency Horizon. Welcome back to the intersection of sky, sea and sound dude!

In this week's episode we hit up a trail in Canada to collect mosquito sounds for an organic techno track; Kyra connects from a shoreline in Australia with some kind thoughts; and we chat with a guy who was responsible for distributing Santa Cruz Skateboards apparel in Europe. I hit the slopes one final time this season—this time at Palisades Tahoe. And I head out to Bakersfield, California to take in the wondrous spectacle that is Lightning in a Bottle music festival, checking out sets from the likes of Skrillex, MIA + Rufus du Sol, and even scoring an interview backstage with Nia Archives!

I put together a pre-Lightning in the Bottle show, as I'm on the precipice, wondering if I just forked out cash to a scammer. And we have another chill guest-set from ANDON, this time it's the "La Barosa" #deephouse mix.

Mat calls in from Long Beach in the Tofino-Ucluelet area of Vancouver Island, Canada. Plus San Francisco-based Rave Mom sends in a sick guestmix—and tells us about how she actually grew up in the area our radio station now covers.

We've got plenty of chill-but-dancey tunes + dream pop-esque vibes this week, we interact with a beachcomber and a surfer going out on a small day at Pleasure Point, plus ANDON delivers a deep house guestmix in the second hour of the show.

In addition to a varied music stream of chill proportions, we'll take you on a hike in Henry Cowell Redwood State Park and contemplate the benefits of surfing with a pair of rad Guatemalan brothers north of Santa Cruz.

A couple European exchange students we meet by the beach in their van have a surprisingly inspiring perspective on journalistic possibilities. DJ Yuka Yu teaches the fundamentals of electronic music mixing. And our program manager randomly appears when when I'm surfing instead of completing my show—and yet it's kinda awesome...

Since the solar eclipse rolled through North America this week, we decided to replay our mini-doc from the 2017 Oregon Eclipse music fest. DJ Little John was at that event. And in this we have the first-ever "sneak peek" mini-mix from him—straight outta Shanty Shack.
