Father shares insights on what is means to be a prophet. Prophets are people chosen by God to speak His word to the world. We are called to be prophets also through the merit of our baptism. Let us listen to the Word of God and then speak God’s word to the world.

Father talks about how each baptized Christian is united to the priestly work of Jesus Christ. This means that we must offer our selves at Mass and then go and live that sacrifice in our own lives. Thus, every moment of life can be sanctified.

Today is the feast of the baptism of Jesus. This day marks the official end of the Christmas season. John the Baptist hesitated to baptize Jesus because he knew Jesus was sinless. Jesus was baptized as an anticipation to his death for our sins.

Happy Feast of the Epiphany! Father shares some words from Pope Benedict XVI about the tradition of the Magi, also known as the Three Kings. The Magi found the true face of God and we are called to see the true face of God also.

Today we celebrate the feast of Raymond of Penyafort, known as the Father of Cannon Law. He encouraged Saint Thomas Aquinas to write an explanation of the faith which would help missionaries in their work.

Today is the feast of Saint André Bessette, a man canonized by Pope Benedict. Known as God’s Door Keeper saint André Bessette was a porter in Montreal and bore chartable witness to Christ in a desire to comfort those who came to his door.

Today is the feast of Saint John Neumann. Saint John Neumann came to the United States as seminarian and eventually became the bishop of Philadelphia. Saint Neumann had the gift for Languages and learned to speak twelve different languages fluently.

Today is the feast of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first American born saint canonized by the Church. Though Saint Elizabeth was not originally Catholic, she converted after the death of her husband and started a religious community for woman known as the Sisters of Charity.

Today is the feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. Father Kubicki reads some words from the Catechism on how we are supposed to respect the name of Jesus and only use it to bless, praise, and glorify God. Let us treasure the name of Jesus in its proper place. 

Today we celebrate the feasts of Saints Basil the great and Gregory Nazianzen. They were friends who had a powerful influence on each other and were baptized together in the year AD 358. they both eventually became bishops. 

Happy and Blessed New Year! Father reads some words from Pope Francis about starting the New Year off right by entrusting it to Mary the Mother of God.  Just as God chose to be born as a vulnerable baby in the in the arms of his mother so to let us imitate Him and fall into the arms of our heavenly mother.    

On the last day of the calendar year Father Kubicki reflects on the past year. Father reads some words from Pope Francis to help us reflect on this time. How have you lived this year? Let us give thanks to God and ask for forgiveness which goes hand in hand.

Normally the feast of the Holy Family is celebrated on the Sunday between Christmas and New Year’s Day. However, since Christmas and New Year’s are both on Sunday, we celebrate the feast of the Holy Family today. 

Today is the feast of Saint Thomas Becket, a bishop who was put to death by the king of England because of his religious beliefs. Father reads some words from Pope Benedict about freedom of religion being paramount in maintaining peace. 

Today is the feast of some of the first martyrs in the Church known as the Holy Innocence. These were children who were killed at the command of Herod when he was trying to find and destroy Jesus. These children were martyrs because they died for Christ even though they did not know it. 

Today we celebrate the feast of Saint John the Evangelist. Known as the Beloved Disciple, Saint John the only Apostle who stood under the cross with Jesus. We are all called to be beloved disciples of Jesus through a deep friendship that is fostered from trust.

Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Steven, the first martyr in the Church, who was stoned to death. Father Kubicki shares some words from Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe On the correlation between this feast day and the one we celebrated yesterday, Christmas.

Merry Christmas! Father Kubicki reads some reflections from a priest named Al Lauer who wrote some very power words on today’s reading. Father Lauer died in 2002 from cancer but is still remember through the apostolate he founded known as Presentation Ministries.

Today is Christmas eve. Father reads some words from Pope Benedict about Jesus coming as a human, being born in a stable as a vulnerable baby. Nothing is more sublime than the love that stoops down and becomes dependent as shown by Jesus in the manger.

Today Father reads the last of the O Antiphons, which is taken from the prophet Isaiah about Emanuel, used in the Gospel of Matthew. Father invites us to make an act of faith that Jesus is God who came to be with humanity and remains with us in the Holy Eucharist.

Father shares an O Antiphon today reminding us that we are dust and unto dust we will return. We remember that God became human in all its ways except for sin. The reason He took on the dust of humanity is because of love.
