Today is the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. Father Kubicki shares some words from Pope Francis about how the Eucharist must transform us. Jesus is our true food that sustains us. Let us ask ourselves how we live the Eucharist.

Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Ephrem the Syrian a deacon who died in the year AD 373. Saint Ephrem was known as the Harp of the Holy Spirit because his words were so inspired by the Holy Spirit. His secret to this was his time of prayer.

Just as May was dedicated to the Virgin Mary so too June is a month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Father Kubicki shares how devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus has waned because we have become lukewarm to God.

During this month of June, when we celebrate the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Father Kubicki talks about a book he wrote called “A Heart on Fire” and shares some words from Saint Gertrude about losing herself in the loving Heart of Jesus.

Today is the feast of Saint Norbert, a man who founded a religious order known as the Norbertines. According to tradition it was in a church from this religious group that the tabernacle was first moved to the center of the Church.

Today is the feast of Saint Boniface, known as the Apostle of Germany. Even though most people now days look forward to retirement Saint Boniface never retired until the day of his martyrdom in the year AD 754 at the age of 80.

Today is the feast of the most Holy Trinity, celebrated the first Sunday after Pentecost. Even though the Trinity can never be fully understood, Father Kubicki, shares some reflections from Pope Francis about the community of the Trinity.

Today is the feast of Saints Charles Lwanga and his companions, martyrs of Africa in the nineteenth century. Father Kubicki reads some words from an eyewitness account of their martyrdom, where they were burned alive.

Today is the feast of Saints Peter and Marcellinus. Father Kubicki shares some words from Pope Damasus who heard the first had account of the death of Saint Peter and Marcellinus from one of the men who executed them and later converted.

Today is the feast of Saint Justin Martyr. Father Kubicki reads some words from Saint Justin, written a little over one hundred years after Jesus’ death and resurrection, about a description of the Mass which is very similar to what we practice today as Catholics.

Today is the feast of Saint Joan of Arc, a young woman who led the French army against the English invasion. She was successful but eventually betrayed and handed over to the English and was burned at the stake, because of accusations of witchcraft.

Today is the feast of Mary the Mother of the Church. After Jesus Ascended into heaven the Apostles committed themselves to prayer. Father points out that Mary was also present praying during the birth of the Church. Let us pray with Mary also.

Today is the feast of Saint Augustine of Canterbury, a monk who was sent, by the pope, to England in the late 6th century. Father shares some words from Saint Augustine which he shared with the king of England after he arrived.

Today is the feast of Saint Philip Neri, a man who lived in the 1500s and thought about becoming a businessman but ended up devoting his life to the business of God, the salvation of souls. Father Kubicki shares some insights from this great saint.

Today is the feast of Pope Saint Gregory the VII, who was pope for 12 years and died in the year AD 1085. Father Kubicki shares some words from Saint Gregory, who needed to confront many immoralities within the Church.

Today is the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, a feast that goes back to the early 19th century when Napoleon held Pope Pius VII captive for six years. In gratitude for his health and safety during his years of imprisonment Pope Pius VII instituted this feast day.

Today is the feast of Saint Rita, known as the advocate of desperate cases. She had a difficult marriage and when her husband died, she joined a convent after three unsuccessful attempts to enter. She received a thorn in her for head as a portion of Jesus’ suffering.

Father Kubicki shares some words from Pope Francis about Jesus’ ascension into heaven. Even though He ascends to heaven He still remains present with us through His Spirit. And so let us boldly go with Jesus to share Him with others.

Today is the feast of Saint Bernardine of Siena, a Franciscan who lived during the 15th century. Saint Bernadine had a deep devotion to the holy name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is a powerful prayer which we should reverently employee regularly.

Father Kubicki shears some thoughts from Pope Francis about Mary, as we continue to celebrate her in this month of May. Mary is a living example of love for the Church. Mary brings joy to our lives because she brings us Jesus Christ.
