Jesus put the disciples in a position where they realize that they are called and sent not because of what they have but what God has for them. [Luke 10:1-9, Feast of St. Luke]

Jesus seriously warns us for not acknowledging Him. Denying God in today's world leads to our own denial to the eternal Home with God. [Luke 12:8-12, Saturday of the 28th Week in the Ordinary Time]

Given that many people recognized the pharisees, Jesus warned his apostles of the pharisees' hypocrisy. They were instructed by Jesus to fear but love God above all. [Luke 12:1-7, Friday of the 28th Week in the Ordinary Time]

Jesus saw the need for correction and so He spoke. The consequence though was a plot of his critics against Him. [Luke 11:47-54, Thursday of the 28th Week in the Ordinary Time]

For the Jews, anyone who unknowingly steps on a grave of the dead becomes impure. Jesus said to the pharisees and scholars that they are like this kind of grave. [Luke 11:42-46, Wednesday of the 28th Week in the Ordinary Time]

The pharisee after inviting Jesus in his home hopefully did not regret doing so. Despite his hospitality, he received a strong reprimand from Jesus. That should not surprise us given Jesus' sincere love for everyone. [Luke 11:37-41, Tuesday of the 28th Week in the Ordinary Time]

All Jesus could give was the sign of Jonah. Jona's 3 days in the belly of the whale and his preaching for repentance that saved the ninevites. [Luke 11:29-32, Monday of the 28th Week in the Ordinary Time]

Good is a relative term. Good can be misused and abused. That explains why we still see a lot of evil even if most people aspire for what is good. Certainly, being good is not only following the commandments of God. Let's listen and reflect. [Mark 10:17-27, 28th Sunday in the Ordinary Time]

A woman sounded envious of Mary but Jesus challenged her to receive the word of God and observe it. [Luke 11:27-28, Saturday of the 27th Week in the Ordinary Time]

A scholar was testing Jesus. At the end, he was faced with the challenge to become a "neighbor" himself to others. [Luke 10:25-37, Monday of the 27th Week in the Ordinary Time]
