Jesus told his disciples that the Holy Spirit would come, but then he told them to wait. Waiting isn’t fun, but it’s also not wasted time. The disciples show us how we should wait for what God wants to do in our lives.

Most of us struggle to create meaningful and lasting change in our lives. Change is hard. But God has designed us so to be capable to change. Only when we understand the design, can we create the right kind of change.

   No one likes to go through a period of pain or hardship, but when we have the right perspective, we can endure and grow from it. The author of Hebrews teaches us that hardship can actually be God’s discipline in our lives. And discipline brings growth.

  Faith is a central concept in Christianity, but we often misunderstand what faith is. In Hebrews, we come to see what faith is in a powerful way.

God never took pleasure in sacrifices and offerings. So, Jesus became the perfect sacrifice and showed us that obedience is what God takes pleasure in.

  Often we choose the easy way out, with the result that we don’t mature like we should. When we get comfortable spiritually, we can stunt our spiritual growth. There’s a way forward, but it takes more than what we can do on our own.

When we don’t have confidence, it’s hard to get it back. This is especially true in our spiritual lives. The good news is that we don’t have to get our own confidence, because Jesus has done everything we need to have confidence.

Jesus is...well, it’s complicated. The author of Hebrews can’t describe Jesus with a simple phrase. He makes a long list--and he’s just getting started.

What is my purpose? It's a question that every one of us has asked. If we wanted to become the people God created us to be, we need to know the right answer.

What we want in life changes all the time. And often the thing we most desire today is not what will lead us where we want to go in the future. We need something deeper than our desires in order to live into God's future. Thankfully, the Bible shows us what we are missing.

In order to become who God wants you to be a decade from now, you have to start doing the right things now. In the Bible, Abraham showed the kind of step to take in order to change our future. The right step can make all the difference.

No matter how amazing your 2020 is going to be for you, you will face hard times. You can't control what you face in 2020, but you can control how you respond. In Psalm 77, we learn the key to thriving in the middle of pain.

There is an open invitation to the kingdom of God. Jesus taught that the key to being welcome is not being worthy, but something very different. 

God’s kingdom extends beyond the king. But what does it take for the reign of Jesus to become embedded in this world? Jesus’ teachings show us the way that God’s Kingdom can come in a powerful way now--and how we can be a part of that .

The first time Jesus' mom heard that she was going to have a son--she didn't know anything about the cross or spiritual salvation. But she did learn who Jesus was going to be--a King. Gods Kingdom wouldn't exist without the King. It all starts here.

Our default in life determines our impact. If we have the right default, we will leave an amazing legacy. In Philippi, Paul made a difference by keeping the same default in every situation he faced. If we have the same default, we will be unstoppable for God.

Philip was called by God to take a journey into the desert. By the end of it, he had changed the course of a whole nation. What Philip did in the desert can help us understand how we can use our time and knowledge to help One person encounter Jesus. 

Satan means "accuser." He ignores our identity in Christ and defines us by our past. He accuses us to tear us down. But Jesus is our advocate. He defends us and speaks on our behalf. Jesus was the only Righteous one. Through him, we can find a new identity and safety from Satan's accusations.
