In September 1982, family and friends gathered in Winona, Minnesota, to honor a remarkable milestone: the 90th birthday of Loyde Eugene Pfeiffer. Born in the small town of Thompson, North Dakota, in 1892 to Charles and Sarah Pfeiffer, Loyde’s life spanned nearly a century of American history. He was the mayor of Winona, Minnesota, in the early 1950's.
